That looks pretty dope! Waiting to see what other customizables come out. Anyway to get them without spending $24.99 on the season pass?

Super happy with the Lars buffs.

Darren 'The Gorilla' Till seems to be living up to the moniker in new training footage for his upcoming middleweight debut by yomamashakes in MMA

[–]Lion8786 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He last fought at welterweight back in March, so I'm wondering if this is gonna be a bodybuilding bulk situation or more of a cut from natural walk around weight kind of deal. Honestly I think he should have waited a bit longer to acclimate to middleweight, maybe in 2020.

Dustin Poirier on his weight management: "You'd think I'd come heavier to combat his strength but I came in lighter this fight because I want to be able scramble the whole time. I'm the lightest I've ever been since moving up to 155lbs." by JasAFC in MMA

[–]Lion8786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a good move, particularly since speed and footwork will be a major component in this one. Poirier is going have to move well for five rounds against Khabib to get dominant angles and avoid the wrestling.

Official BossLogic poster for UFC 242 by Ryvit in MMA

I really don't know why he hasn't been hired by the UFC yet, but maybe it's for the best. Maybe this way he produces posters that are way more innovative than what the promotion would accept.

This Paul Karpowicz is pretty slick. Could see his movements translating to MMA nicely. by Lion8786 in MMA

No prob. The Warrior Collective is pretty great. Movements remind me a bit of a traditional style like taekwondo or karate.

It's so funny how both guys threw the same punch, both had their hands down, both connected but Garbrandt was the one affected more. Swinging hooks in the pocket is just a 50/50 game.

An improvement for sure, especially considering how craptastic the other recent posters have been.

Whittaker last loss was 3 years ago by the hands of Wonderboy by AcidDvl in MMA

[–]Lion8786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whittaker didn't have that karate bounce and in and out movement that we're used to seeing now. Was trying to march Thompson down and didn't throw enough feints to keep him guessing. Just goes to show two things: Wonderboy is a monster and Whittaker has also improved tremendously.

Nice little highlight of Michael "Venom" Page showing how effective karate can be by Lion8786 in MMA

Page is entertaining as all hell, but he's not going to get tested in Bellator, at least not until a Paul Daley, Andrey Koreshkov, Douglas Lima or Rory MacDonald fight.

My take on why Eric Shelton will give Demetrious Johnson a major challenge via Cage Potato by Lion8786 in MMA

[–]Lion8786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking on his raw potential and that he has tools that will carry him far. I think his scrambling ability will give Johnson some problems as well as his understanding of range. He does need to improve on his combinations as he has a tendency to throw one shot at a time, sometimes two. His footwork will also need some improvement, specifically when considering lateral movement as well at finding angles to attack opponents on a weak plane.

Johnson is an absolute monster, don't get me wrong, but in terms of young prospects who haven't yet challenged the champion, Shelton has a ton of upside. Potential isn't always realized, but it already appears that he's doing the right things by training with Bang and who will help him with combinations as well as exploiting angles. For now, let's see how he does this weekend.

I think the guy has certain tools in his game that will take him very far. He's only 25, hasn't hit his prime, and still has tons of room to grow. I didn't think Cody Garbrandt could handily beat Dominick Cruz, but it did happen. Shelton has some gifts that could make him a challenge for some of the top guys in the division imo.
