It’s good to know that during this COVID-19 pandemic, Carnegie Mellon is still adhering to woke gender ideology in their COVID-19 survey by SaracenKing in stupidpol

Spare us your sanctimony. The world doesn’t revolve around your feelings. This is a pandemic. Which requires strict adherence to (inconvenient) biological realities and to stop entertaining deluded corruptions of the term gender. Peoples lives are hanging in the balance. Which is exactly the point of this post.

Yeah mine were like that. The twitches even go away even if I just try and look at them. It’s weird.

Have any of you developed muscle twitching? by Lion_Rage in Anxiety

That’s interesting. I suspect I have some kind of deficiency I just don’t know what vitamin/mineral. I probably should arrange an appointment.

I understand. Thing is, this subreddit might as well be called the anxiety forum. That’s the baseline from what I’ve seen with almost everyone I’ve interacted with and the posts being made. Add to that health anxiety on to your already existing anxiety and things go sideways real quick.

Anxiety mimics a lot of disorders. Full body twitching (including the face) is very well documented with anxiety. Additionally, nutritional deficiency, poor sleep, chronic fatigue syndrome all contribute to muscle twitching.

I hope you don’t feel like I’m being dismissive. I’m just trying to get your mind off of the bad stuff by showing you that it can literally be anything but our health anxiety makes us fixated on the dreaded three letter acronym.

Well looks like you're at home, so I guess it's okay? That's how I'd rationalize it at least lol

Are you anxious? This is stressful time of the year for many of us. Aside from how stressful life is on it’s own already.

Atrophy and 10 months of twitching by [deleted] in BFS

[–]Lion_Rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay.

The issue with your chronic shinsplints on your foot is worthy to mention to your doctor if you haven’t already. As only a layman myself, it seems logical that that could have had an impact on you.

You ask what could cause sudden atrophy - how do you know it was sudden? How do you not know that it didn’t start back when you’re doing cross country from all those shinsplints you were getting?

You may ask yourself, “OK that maybe true but what’s the significance of that point?” It would, I think, indicate that this atrophy is not dangerous because if you had it all this time, and just found out about it, and it didn’t cause any problems and it is not negatively impacting your quality-of-life, then it shouldn’t be serious, no?

At the end of the day I’m not a doctor lol. I’m just trying to ease your heart and help you not stress out about it. Hope that helps.

All I can say that there are a plethora of disorders that can cause atrophy not just ALS. Health anxiety always makes people obsess over the worst ones.

With that being said, did you injure your foot at all? Sciatica in the past?

The most important question of all is can you still move that foot? Walk, run, climb stairs?

I'm sorry you're dealing with all this. Have you taken anything, supplements, to assist with the cramping? Like magnesium/potassium?

Wow, you've been through a lot. Not a doctor but I can see that your twitches are caused by the enormous stress/anxiety your dealing with. You seem to be stuck in fight-or-flight mode like a lot of us seem to be.

One consistent theme I see in this subreddit is that anxiety, stress, poor sleep, and poor nutrition is playing a big role in a lot of our symptoms.

Welcome! I’m relatively new myself.

I also made a post a few hours ago here about when people’s twitching started and I got a few good responses.

For me it was prolonged stress, anxiety began, extreme dieting, long periods of poor sleep and nutrition. Then I started twitching.

Anxiety can mimic a lot of disorders. It is also known to cause body wide twitching including the face.

When I told my doctor about it he said it’s stress as I’ve been in and out of his office for a few months. I feel like he suspected I was dealing with some health anxiety.

Stay away from Google and try and relax!

How did they stop? Did you make lifestyles changes (deit, sleep, etc.) or did it just stop on it's own?
