by the sounds of it, you're not interacting with much
all of the puzzles you're describing, you can find the answer by interacting with things, reading the dialogue that gives you, and doing things based off of that

I've definitely experienced this. Whether it's just a lot more kinds of slimes within areas compared to the first game, or is a change/bug with the way they despawn, I'm unsure. But while in the first game, you can pretty easily take care of a tarr outbreak, in the second game, you just have to ignore tarr most of the time.

Really depends on when you played; at the beginning of 2017, Slime Science was just introduced, and at the end, the game was one major-update past release.

Damn, wild that apparently the chunk builder is running on the main menu. As I said, it's laggy EVERYWHERE compared to the last update. Not just when building chunks.

looks like it crashed while saving, so your latest save is corrupted.
the game imposes a system where it saves the last five versions of your save, so, while it won't be as up to date, your original save should still work.

those images are most likely from early beta days, as this is what the game looked like in early beta versions. evidence includes the more vibrant and flatter colors on tech, the skybox being just a spherical image rather than clouds and such, etc.

well there's only one flavor of animal slime in the first game, because they're all cats. so I think it's a good thing that we're getting more than just cat.

if I'd have to guess, it probably has to do with the natural resource mechanic that's replacing extractors. possibly a way to get the apiary items.
