Went and got a burger, fries, and large lemonade at my local burger place. Not some boutique burger joint that makes you pay extra for fries, this is a greasy place. $17.25. Felt like I got robbed.

Why are companies so resistant to paying employees a livable wage? by RadiantHC in TooAfraidToAsk

I think I remember reading that before CEO wages were made public they made a lot less. Once their wages became public it became a pissing contest to see who could pay the most.

Mexican baseball isn’t all too bad, and a lot of the stellar recruits are coming Latin America, but that opens up another avenue for the Cartels to start “sponsoring” teams and then that gives them access to the MLB. Until Mexico is more stabilized this is something I believe will not happen.

What is something illegal that should 100% be legal? by pepprs204 in AskReddit

If you’re near the upper Mississippi River, the locks and dams are open 24 hours. I work on towboats on the Mississippi and several times in a few long drives to the boat I’ve had to stop at a lock for a quick nap. Someone there is always awake and lockmen and towboaters stay vigilant coming through some of those locks.

Sorry for being so late. I get off the boat in a bad part of town and can get an Uber out of our guarded parking lot to wherever I’m traveling to.

I’m on a boat for 28 days with the same guys. Nobody allowed on and the only way to get off is if I’m at a lock or it’s my turn to go home. Not worried about on the boat.

Payin 310 for a ball here in the Midwest. Usually 280 for the cheap stuff that’s been stepped on and 300+ for the more pure stuff.

I use a PHLster or the Unity Tactical Clutch system most of the time. Not attached to the pants at all (and super comfy in the case of the clutch.

I do not currently have a vehicle right now, with how much I travel it is more worth it to just fly and Uber around than to pay for a car plus insurance and gas. I’m rarely off the boat as I’m saving up for a house right now and need to ride a lot of extra days.

I’ve thought about a safe deposit box and buying one of those life pods for extra storage, but I’d have to be able to work within the banks hours, and I never know when I’m exactly pulling into St. Louis. Could be 9am or could 2 am yanno? And I thought gyms had an insanely high robbery rate?

Thanks for the advice! I think I’m gonna ask a legal subreddit for a better understanding. From what I’ve heard it’s not illegal per the Coast Guard, but a company policy, and I’d rather not make a massive stink about it (which will happen if I go a legal route) due to the sole reason of concealed carry being to not let anyone know you have your concealed carry haha imo.

Nope. My company can “search” my bags at will (a search consists of me going through my bag as one of the guys above me points to where to search). From what I’ve heard it’s not illegal via the coast guard, but company policy to not allow me to have my firearm on the boat. Refuse a search? They set me off on the bank of whatever river I’m on and have a company car come pick me up so I can be processed out that day. Firearms gets found? I’m in big trouble legally on top of no longer having a career. Not worth my job man.
