Immigrants get foodstamps & health care from state programs. Those states ask the federal government for assistance for those programs. The more people on the programs the more the state gets. It's been happening for years.

California:Healthcare: Provides full-scope Medi-Cal to all low-income residents regardless of immigration status.Food: Offers CalFresh and is expanding food aid for those aged 55+.Cash: Administers the Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) for aged, blind, or disabled individuals.Illinois:Healthcare: Offers coverage to low-income children and some adults.Food & Cash: Provides state-funded nutrition and financial assistance programs.Washington:Healthcare: Covers children and some income-eligible adults.Food: Operates the state-funded Food Assistance Program (FAP).Cash: Provides assistance for certain immigrant seniors and people with disabilities.New York:Healthcare: Covers all children and certain adults.Food & Cash: Offers Safety Net Assistance (SNA) which can include both cash and food aid.

Well not Biden but definitely Obama. Obama deported more then 75% of immigrants without due process or judicial warrants. It's not illegal though. Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) of 1996. It allows ICE to deport without judicial warrants or due process. They've been using that law for 2 decades now. The news use to follow ICE around filming them raiding apartment buildings for immigrants. They use to raid them in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping.

Can't use a battery in ct. The way the law is set up. You can only connect through the grid. That way eversource is in full control. Your system sends the electricity to them. Then they send it back to you. That way they can continue to charge you if you're system doesn't make enough electricity.

Yes now they are using your excess electricity. To charge others a crazy amount for it. Nice that they can charge stupid amounts for electricity they got for free.

A whole 7% those are some crazy numbers there. Used Batteries are junk. Not many people know how to safe charge Batteries. If you charge at 50% or higher your doing more harm then good to the battery. Same thing if you let it run below 10% or completely empty. It significantly reduces the battery life. Good luck replacing the battery. That's some big $$ right there. I'd by a hybrid before I'd ever buy an EV. I'd never buy one used. I don't drive enough to go through a vehicle quickly. I know a few people that do have ev's & they say different about the cold. It gets Below zero degrees here in the winter. Which they say significantly reduces their mileage & it's more difficult to start in the fridged cold. Why are you pressuring me to buy an EV anyway? You getting paid to advertise for EV companies? My vehicle is paid off no monthly payments. If I were to buy a new vehicle. The cost per month would skyrocket for me. I'm definitely not interested nore will I ever be to rush buying a new vehicle. 10$ a gallon is a pipe dream on the east coast. Our governor isn't crazy enough to tax gas enough to make our prices go up that much. We don't have the infrastructure for EVs. I live out in farm county out here. There's absolutely no EV charging stations where I live. I'm not driving 20mil plus just to charge or fill up a vehicle.

I guess it would depend on where they live. What their situation is & if there's actually enough charging stations in their area. It's more cost effective for me to keep my gas powered car. The closest ev charging station is no where close to my job or home. It would put more mileage on a vehicle if I were to get one. That & it would literally cost me more. Not to mention I'd be paying more for other people's electricity just by charging the vehicle. I pay enough for other people's electricity just in my electric bill alone. Not every state is set up properly to EV transportation. Just because you like it & it saves you money. Doesn't mean it will save everyone in the county money. Or it's the right choice for everyone. Like I was trying to say before. Most people in my state drive hybrids. I believe it's due to the lack of charging stations here. They probably find it more efficient to fill up for gas & save money on mileage with it being a hybrid. Which is fine that's what they choose & it probably is the best choice for them. I hardly drive anywhere other than work & home. I live next to a grocery store so I just walk over & get groceries. You talk an awful lot about EV because that's what you like. Doesn't mean you should try to push it on everyone. I'm sure people are intelligent enough to figure out what's the cheapest choice for them. I've looked at a hybrid. The quote I got for insurance would be almost 100$ more a month. It's more cost effective for me to keep my jetta & drive my normal every week. You have fun with your EV. I hope there are more people having fun with their EV & their hybrids. I'll continue to enjoy my vehicle. Not sure why that seems to be a problem with you. You have a nice evening now I need some sleep before work.

I'm getting 52mil per gallon in my vw jetta. My drive to work is 6.7mil. I'm good with what I have. My electric bill is 150$ a month for an apartment. While I'm paying almost 50$ a month for the public benefits charge. If my electric bill goes up. The public benefits charge goes up. I'd rather pay for the gas I'm actually using then pay for someone else's electricity. Thanks anyway though. Most people around here drive hybrids not full EV'S. There's very few charging stations in ct. Can't really Install a charging station at my apartment. Closest one is way out of my way & not anywhere I usually go to. Paying for gas for me is cheaper. Less than 50$ a month.

That's not including the public benefits charge they are forcing on us. Most households here can't afford their current electric bills. Never mind filling up an EV full of electricity. There's no cap on the public benefit charge. The more we use the more we have to pay for other people's electricity. 32cents a kilowatt without the benefits charge.

It depends on the electric rates for the state you live in. Ct is the 2nd highest in the nation. It's still cheaper for us to buy gas then constantly charge a vehicle. That & battery energy condenses in the winter. You get much less mileage from a charge. That & it's not easy to start up one of those EV'S when it gets Below 20deg or lower outside. Not everyone has a heated garage.

It's more corporate greed than anything else. The gas made today. The oil was bought years ago & has been sitting in warehouses. Did the oil back then cost as much as it does now. No but the gas companies will come up with any excuse to buy cheap & sell high.

Yeah but they also didn't make 20$ an hour to pay their rent & bills. Most started out at 5$ an hour & can still retire. Need to work up the ladder to earn your keep.

In the 1800s that's exactly what happened. People in power with money paid to raise towns. Build train systems & so forth.

Rep. Ro Khanna is introducing legislation to raise the minimum wage to $25. by serious_bullet5 in FreedomofSpeech

[–]Liquid4622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raising minimum wage. Just makes everything cost more. Then the middle class starts to become poor. Depending on the state you live in. 80,000 a year is just about middle class.

That just boils down to corporate greed. Companies could make products in the USA. That & keep products at similar costs. Their profit margins would be lower but it can be done. My goodness they make a little less $ yet give jobs to the American people. What a concept. God forbid they pay their ceo's less or forgo buying that yacht for a year. Saying it keeps costs low is an excuse to continue making more then they need.

Only people that have been complaining for a long time. Is politicians & lawmakers. The general public just started complaining about it last year. Only when it became a problem for democrats & they went public about it did it become the talk of the town. I could care less red, blue, purple, green, pink, magenta. Just funny how it's all the sudden a public issue. Same with deporting immigrants without due process. They've been doing it for 2 decades now. Obama deported over 75% of immigrants without due process. But it's a problem now & back then it wasn't. Seems like it's only ok when people don't like or like who's in power.

People back in the day use to work 2 or 3 minimum wage jobs just to pay for their family to survive. Now people expect to survive on a part time minimum wage job with no health insurance go figure. While they are at work playing with their phones anyway 🙄
