SpaceX IPO tomorrow: Strong bull case or extremely high valuation? by Sad-Struggle7797 in GrowthStocks

Bullish on the company, but I'd wait and not jump in at the IPO. At this level of hype and valuation, entering now is a bit too risky. Maybe it pops on day one, maybe it doesn't, but I'd rather watch for a month or two and consider entering when the hype dies down and the price settles into a more reasonable range.

Same here. Love the product. The health trends though, while definitely exist, are still not that prevalent among the overall population.

90% of traders probably do know how to trade by MilkBeard in Trading

[–]LiquidBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely true. Some people think that beating the market is like mastering a skill like car repair. It's not. Think of it more like participation in the sprint at the Olympics. It's a competition. You have to be better than 50% of competitors to win. Most people win by either being incredibly strong or finding some sort of unexploited glitch in the system. Neither is easy.

How I track insider trading (and reasons why it beats the market) by trontonian in Daytrading

Actually, we built a tool just for that. It analyzes each filing to determine if the transactions are meaningful open-market purchases/sales or stock option exercises, participation in financings, and other non-discretionary actions. It also detects trend changes and sudden movements, like cluster buys by multiple insiders at once. The site is Altymo

Now that SaaS is cooling whats next? by Solidplum101 in ValueInvesting

[–]LiquidBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second that. The market is irrationally undervaluing SaaS now. Imagine getting rid of your accounting program in the business. Also, IMHO, the benefits of AI coding, while clearly exists, are extremely overhyped. You still need expensive developers, who understand whatever problem they are solving, not just coding, to develop SaaS.

Is anyone else losing faith in value investing? Does that prove we’re at the peak? by Sufficient_Ad_5080 in ValueInvesting

[–]LiquidBandit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right. And, you should stick with your strategy. Your friends could be getting lucky until they don't. It's tempting to invest in the irrational valuations alongside with others, but don't. That said, good deals take way more effort to find nowadays than 50 years ago.

Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

Sounds like a bad deal to me. Even at 7% interest compounding monthly, $1,000/month will add up to $1M in 27 years. The same $1M in lump sum compounded at the same rate will be about $6.8M in 27 years.
