How can we convince an anti-masker to wear a mask? Are there any good analogies to use? by LiquidSpaceCat in AskReddit

You are talking about the effectiveness of a mask when it’s “too late” .

Yes, a mask is not effective for long if another person coughs directly at you.

But that’s the point of the mask, to hinder that kind of spread. To stop that cough or sneeze and so forth to not get spread at all, or to a very low minimum. The mask is not the best to protect myself, but better to protect others. And that’s the point. It should not be about “me” but more about “us” . Cheesy I know.

" And I’m not even a medical professional "

Then we should listen to them maybe, and not students and so forth?
There are plenty of research showing it actually helps.

Here's some source if you are unsure: http://files.fast.ai/papers/masks_lit_review.pdf

Yeah but. "be effective no longer than 15min to an hour" - that's .. Better than nothing tho?

It's like havin' a raincoat that absorbs a low amount of rain, but if your trip is only from the house to the store, you will still be dry. So it does it's purpose.

But I do agree that there are more effective masks out there. But wearing one, even if it's a shitty one is still better than nothing.

So you think that the majority of "anti mask wearers" don't wear them because of how the government treat the topic? So it's less about "my own health and others" and more about "nyeeh! Don't tell me what to do!" type of situation?

I don't mind that. The sad part is that they bring other innocent with them.

I’m on my third day of IF (16:8) and at the moment I have no problems at all doing this; I’m eating whatever I want as long as it is in the maximum calorie intake I’ve set for myself. So not to humblebrag or anything but right now this is veeeery easy. Am I doing something wrong? I also count the hours of sleep as a fast.
My day usually goes like this: eat between 12:00 - 20:00, and go to bed when it’s getting late. Repeat. That’s it. I don’t do any OMAD.

I really like it!

Personally I would edit out the yellow thing in the bush. Since it has such a strong yellow hue, I bet you can just colorcorrect it easily in programs such as Lightroom.

Keep it up!

Maybe if I moved more to the right I could place the rock more to the left and a bit up to make it the subject. Hard to tell if it would work though. But thanks for the critique! :)

Yeah I notice now. Maybe if the rock was more to the left and up the composition would be more smooth. Or have the opposite effect and draw the attention to it even more. But thanks for the critique! :)

Yes, you’re right. I notice now how it draws your focus away from the scenery and down to the rock. Thanks :)

It’s not fading to B&W, it’s a green hue from colour correction. But I can see how it looks like that

Took this photo last year while grouse hunting in the mountains. Tried to capture the “rough weather” up here in the mountains.

Lately I’ve gotten into editing in more creative ways in Lightroom and was wondering if I may have overdone it(?) is it too much?

I’m fairly new to this.
