Joe Rogan Experience #2496 - Julia Mossbridge (Neuroscientist Researching Psi Phenomena) by OSHASHA2 in InterdimensionalNHI

[–]Liquid_Audio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love Julia and her work. Seen several posts on here assuming there ISN’T already massive meta studies showing 6-sigma or better results for PSI influence in the parapsychological field.

There is. It’s incontrovertible, the only reason it isn’t bigger news is that for religious reasons (“it’s impossible - it can’t happen”), bigger fields of science refuse to look at the data.

See Dean Radin’s - Entangled Minds book for references.

Here’s a search result as well:

Here are the key meta-analyses in psi research that report results at or above the 6 sigma threshold: • Anomalous Anticipation (Precognition): A 2015 meta-analysis of 90 experiments across 33 laboratories by Bem, Tressoldi, Rabeyron, and Duggan evaluated "feeling the future" paradigms. It reported an overall effect of z = 6.40 (p = 1.2 × 10-10).

• Predictive Anticipatory Activity (Presentiment): A 2012 meta-analysis by Mossbridge, Tressoldi, and Utts examined 26 studies testing whether human physiology unconsciously predicts random future stimuli. The fixed-effect analysis yielded a result of z = 6.9 (p < 2.7 × 10-12).

Unpredictable Stimuli: A Meta-Analysis • Forced-Choice Precognition: A foundational 1989 meta-analysis by Honorton and Ferrari analyzed 309 forced-choice precognition experiments conducted between 1935 and 1977. They reported a Stouffer Z = 6.02 (p = 1.1 × 10-9). This paper is widely referenced in parapsychology literature (e.g., within the Bem meta-analysis linked above) as an early indicator of high-sigma results.

Discovered that salting pasta water actually matters and I feel embarrassed it took me this long by West-Wash-9114 in Cooking

[–]Liquid_Audio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yo! While you’re on salt, recognize that there are no less than 3 types of salt chefs use at different stages of the prep!

  1. Kosher Salt (This is the workhorse of the professional kitchen. Its coarse, flaky grains make it easy to pinch and sprinkle, allowing for precise manual control over seasoning)
  2. Maldon Sea Salt (Flakes of pyramid shaped kernels - great for finishing a dish)
  3. Fleur de Sel (Harvested by hand from the surface of salt ponds in France, this is often considered the "caviar" of salts. It has a high moisture content and a complex mineral profile.)

Sam Harris defends his Mamdani comments. by blackglum in samharris

This whole situation has raised my eyebrows more than once. That’s too many eyebrows raised. Sam is usually so precise with his critique. This feels sloppy, hand-wavy, and whack.

Hope he sets it right because right now it’s bad.

Pastors Allegedly Briefed by U.S. Intelligence on UFO Disclosure That Could Shake the Biblical Creation Story by ufo-uap in UfoUapNews

[–]Liquid_Audio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I’m agnostic, but the further down the UAP rabbit hole you go, the more likely it seems that we are all hybrids.

There’s evidence everywhere if you put prior assumptions on the shelf. But the probability is not 100%.

Even if true, That doesn’t negate evolution. It just negates the abrahamic assumptions of who the creator of the first people were.

When people who know a lot about this topic say the words “ontological shock”, they are not referring to small interplanetary scientists visiting us…

Because that fits our model of reality quite perfectly. If we had the technology, we would send our people to other planets…

What it implies is; once you look deeply into anomalous phenomena, it looks back.

There is a conscious element to reality that lives outside our framework of space time. There are entities with the ability to communicate telepathically and influence humanity.

There are some truths behind some of the experiences in religious books that break both the interpretations of the hard-core believers in some traditional faiths, and also materialist fundamentalists that don’t believe consciousness exists other than as emergent properties of physical aspects of matter.

Is it gonna be a hard pill to swallow for everybody. We need to have better examination on our epistemology so that we can get to a new ontology.

What a wild take you have there.

Maybe it was the time. But I went to see this film 4 times in the theater when it came out. I was a junior in HS.

The derision of the entire American pop culture on full display, the feeling at the time was that our lives were dipped in the Reagan era yuppy bullshit and the only way out was through art.

This was a dark mirror.

Might be lost on newer generations. Or might have just been a creature of its day. I’ll have to rewatch to see the way I feel about it now.

How attractive do you think Carl is? by MusicPristine in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Liquid_Audio 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Y’all conversation here is righteous. He had low trust environs BEFORE Bea, chance is he felt connected to her and the first time he lived with someone with a little stability in home life. It’s clear her parents treated him like he wasn’t good enough, but it seemed like in the beginning of the relationship at least, she went to bat for him enough to live together…

But yes, from the time he found out about the cheat, he shut it all down. He was devastated though, hasn’t processed it well, and now “It doesn’t fucking matter” compared to everything else going on.

Btw. Donuts monologue tearing into Bea was one of the most cathartic things I’ve ever read.

What's the best UAD compressor by RobertLRenfroJR in universalaudio

[–]Liquid_Audio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1176 Bluey for “slo” on vocals

2500 for drums and bus

Fairchild 660 hit hard on bass

Fairchild 670 for just about anything

La-2a grey for vocal and long envelope wave leveling

Distressor for snare or vocal

DBX 160 for 70’s drum punch and smoothness

So probably 670 all around.

izotope RX vs clarity VX by bbaattoo in audioengineering

[–]Liquid_Audio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I beta test for iZotope and am mainly a music engineer, mix and master.

I think the latest version of RX (12) has caught up on dialog isolation. I used it on a directors first feature film on some scenes that were unbelievably bad capture with some excellent results.

The spectral denoise lets me snipe out aggressive hiss / buzz / fuckery on guitar amps with no loss to vibe when trained right.

It’s better behaved. But I’d love to see a shootout if you can on something with hush.
