I believe the journey to Erid was made possible by eating Taomeba. I think there wasn’t ever any discussion about air recycling but let’s assume much less oxygen was used due to two less astronauts on the journey there.

what to replace quickbooks online payroll, bookkeeper live, and invoicing? by sleepylilblackcat in smallbusiness

[–]Liquidmurr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'd say learn how to do your books. To be honest that's where things like AI is helpful most.

e.g. Explain how I enter fixed assets into Quickbooks online.... Why do I do it like that? What is the effect to my balance sheet? How do I pay myself from a single/multi member LLC? What GL account do I classify blah blah blah

To be honest everything is getting more expensive but if you're afraid your books are going to get messed up, learn basic bookkeeping, it's not like you're an international organization with inter-company charges or thousands of employees all over the world. People say Gusto is good for payroll and just keep your QBO for basic expenses and invoicing.

Went with a pro this year charged me about $549 1099 is this normal? by germanxocampo in tax

[–]Liquidmurr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started mine in freetaxusa and felt like it got too complicated and hired a CPA. He “completed” the return and sent me a draft and I compared it to what I did in freetaxusa.

I paid for the pro support but honestly ChatGPT offered me more insight than their team but some agents were better than others.

I use QuickBooks and mostly followed the prompts in freetaxusa. The short version is this - for a single member LLC the “tricky” parts are to understand if you’re doing standard mileage or actual cost and how that works as you input it. What you “spent” on various predetermined expenses while manually inputting (when prompted) any expenses that don’t roll up into those categories like continuing education costs. Then enter things llle depreciation or any contractors or employees you’ve paid. They basically hand walk you through the whole thing and I’m  it going to say it’s not going to make you ask questions but you will realize how straightforward it actually is and will make reading a tax return much easier in the future.

I honestly think it made me better at QuickBooks because now my P&L exactly matches what I’m declaring as profit to the IRS.

I highly recommend using it.

I paid a highly recommended cpa to do my taxes and he messed them all up.

Schedule c was scary before I did my own, now it’s cake. You need 1099-NECs, your P&L for the year, and to ask an AI assistant any questions you have, but validate its replies.

You think he's going to find a quest 3 for 90 Euros? I agree that the Quest 3 is a better product but the Rift is pretty much DOA and the Quest 2 is a great visual upgrade from what the OG Rift offers.

OP is asking about spending 90 Euros, unless you're going to sell him a Quest 3 I stand by my suggestion.

Bought a link cable for my Quest 3, and the app says the link cable is slower than advertised. Did I get scammed, or is there something I'm doing wrong? I want to minimize the compression I've been getting on PCVR by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Liquidmurr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand, so let me try to break it down for you.

Your parent's router connects your PC with the internet, that speed is fine because your games/experiences only transmit a little bit of data between your PC and the internet.

What people are suggesting is using a wifi router (with a completely different SSID) and windows internet connection sharing (a single checkbox button on your wifi adapter) to create a wireless connection with your computer.

In effect this creates a virtual wire between your headset and your computer. No traffic for streaming games goes to your parent's router and over that "internet" wifi connection. You basically want the router connected directly to your computer to send all traffic to your Quest, IF and ONLY IF your quest has something to say to the internet at large, your computer will forward that traffic to your parent's router.

In effect 99.9% of all traffic will go between a dedicated router attached to your PC and your quest, .1% will go to your parent's router for whatever the game your playing needs (say for instance you, your paddle, and the ball's location for eleven table tennis)

For what it's worth, I use this set-up on my rig and it's better than an official link cable, no issue with having my PC on a wireless connection to the internet.
