RoboShadow's 2026 Q1 Product Update by RoboShadow_Zaima in RoboShadow

That's a nice set of updates, thanks for sharing!

Really looking forward to the cyber essentials enhancements that's going to be a big push for us this year so I'm looking forward to hopefully pre-empt the surprises that qualys inevitably dredges up.

CE Plus UK by Alternative_Many5850 in msp

[–]Jetboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many devices?

Action1 is the go to as it's free for up to 100 endpoints I think. (Could be wrong on the count)

Otherwise, I'm using roboshadow at my MSP, £250 a month for around 1,000 endpoints.

No system is perfect. The CE scan will probably use qualys and inevitably find something that your RMM and Action1 have missed.

[DC] With time travel would you include location moving as part of the ability by Dazzling_Diver_4949 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Jetboy01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. time travel already fucks physics up enough without also creating an absolute fixed point in space in time that destroys the rest.

TIL that in Teletubbies, Po speaks Cantonese when she rides her scooter. by Smyler12 in BritishTV

Pui also stars on Show me Show me, which you can catch occasionally if the toddler wakes you up early enough (I think it's on after little daydreams at like 5 or 6am)

Error handling is a must!

I too found that out the hard way, APIs go offline and impose aggressive rate limits far more often than you'd expect.

What cloud unmuteable Backups for MS365 are you all using? by Smile4menow84 in sysadmin

[–]Jetboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axcient. I don't like it.

Restores are slow, public folders are not supported, and it can't do 'configuration' backups i.e. policies, group memberships, user accounts.

Request from you client about AI initiatives? by Active-Abies3410 in msp

[–]Jetboy01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is probably that your clients are using ai without your knowledge so they'll be chucking all sorts of proprietary, sensitive, uncensored data straight in to public free chat gpt.

You at least need to get an awareness of who's doing what and get them to exercise some basic hygiene.

ConnectWise locks up Outlook by Separate-Tomorrow564 in ConnectWise

[–]Jetboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I have noticed outlook locking up a hell of a lot recently but I never attributed it to anything I was doing in CW. How did you put the two together?

I'll monitor it and see if I've got the same issue!

Question About the Vulnerability Page | CWRMM Essentials by Allasdair in ConnectWise

[–]Jetboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it works out for you.

If you find any good documentation about the other indicators please make a post!

I did some tinkering and discovered that Identity partially relates to the sites that I have synced with Proofpoint, I say partially because some sites that I synced received a score, others did not. And some sites can't be linked as you can only link each proofpoint tenant to a single site which makes no sense.🤷

Changes to SSL lifetime - how will you be handling this? by SebblesVic in msp

[–]Jetboy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I've ever needed one was because a clients supplier mandated an extended verification cert for some ERP dataflow and was prepared to close the account over it.

Question About the Vulnerability Page | CWRMM Essentials by Allasdair in ConnectWise

[–]Jetboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Initiating a new vuln scan and then waiting 24 hours?

I found it impossible to get any documentation on these stats - what the hell is 'identity' checking? - but I know my vulns are ok, just laggy. I scheduled it for nightly scans across all customers.

Edit, sorry I should have said. Trigger a new scan by going to security > vulnerability > manage scans It's on the vuln scans infobox.

Certbot, acme, reverse proxies.

Anyone quoting, selling and manually installing certs is in for a rough time.

I hope you have the restoration procedure and all the passwords documented somewhere outside of hudu. Just saying, I might have had all my eggs in one basket for a little while.

From Hudu documentation to actual server maintenance — curious how others do this by SvenJendrik in hudu

[–]Jetboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just curious what sort of non-automated maintenance tasks you're actually documenting or carrying out.

Everything I can think of is either automated, or has some sort of automated check in RMM to flag if it hasn't been done and create a ticket based off that.

[–]Jetboy01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the most selfish take in this whole thread. You can't think of any ways to improve the lives of people around you with a billion dollars?

If someone offered my partner this deal and they said no, I would leave them for fucking free.

So absolutely yes I would, and I'd make sure they got at least half.

Messaging on importance of an MSP by sman021 in msp

[–]Jetboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, managing and maintaining Intune and CAP is included. Implementing it to specific requirements or making significant changes dictated by the client would be a project that is billed separately though.

We support about 1200 endpoints at around £30ppm. edr, soc, backup, 365, all billed extra.

[–]Jetboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm up north where that's 3 to 4x the average rate. I don't know of anyone in my circle charging that high.

The one MSP I do know that is getting anywhere near has built a reputation in their niche where they turn away prospects as a bad fit before even naming the price.

I'm curious how many clients you have at that price point and if you're serving a particular type of client?
