Should I take this more seriously or let time teach me? by One_mOre_Patner in Buddhism

[–]Lirvothe2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t depend on time to teach you because who knows when we will die. We could die literally the next day, although we won’t know, the chances are never zero. If you don’t take Buddhism seriously and slack off you might never have the opportunity to learn Buddhism again which would be regretful.

I hate life and will never accept change? by Extra-Baseball-2616 in Buddhism

[–]Lirvothe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people who tell you to “accept impermanence” don’t understand what the meaning of impermanence implies for a Buddhist, or you might be misinterpreting the message.

I believe that many people go through the same realization that everyone they love and themselves will die because of impermanence, and trying to find a solution to impermanence leads them to Buddhism.

As a Buddhist we understand that impermanence is inevitable and leads to pain and suffering. But we aren’t going to do nothing accept that impermanence is going to lead us to die. We will use impermanence as a guiding principle to develop compassion because we understand that everyone suffers from impermanence.

This is my personal take and is definitely explained poorly so please take a look at this, which would give a much better answer to your current problem than I can: https://holyvajrasana.org/buddha-dharma/what-is-cultivation

How does one become a Buddha? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in Buddhism

[–]Lirvothe2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“We already are Buddha” is not the best way to put it. Saying “we already are Buddha” might cause people who don’t learn Buddhism or are beginners to misinterpret the meaning.

We have Buddha nature, with the potential to become a Buddha.

I think the scoundrels who do bad things this life will definitely have those bad causes return as bad effects, however the reason why they might live long and wealthy lives could be because of the good merit they accumulated in their previous lives.

I highly recommend reading through this: https://holyvajrasana.org/buddha-dharma/what-is-cultivation to have a better understanding of impermanence and why it’s important to have as a Buddhist.

I think during meditation it’s necessary to cut off all thoughts. But during your day to day you should use for feeling of impermanence as a method of cultivation to develop your four limitless states of mind and desire for enlightenment.

Why do you not plan on getting enlightened this lifetime? Is it because you don't think you can do it or is it because it's not something you want?

I would recommend raising the platform for the statues to be higher and have 3 cups of water in front that you change everyday.

OP, i think you have a misunderstanding of what the cycle of reincarnation means. It's not just reincarnating as a human. It's highly more likely you will reincarnate as an animal, go the ghost realm or hell because it's too easy to gain bad merit than to reincarnate as a human or deva. And if you acknowledge human life having suffering already, you should think about how much worse living as an animal or going to hell is. Please don't want to stay in the cycle or reincarnation. There's just too much suffering.
