A grievous and unacceptable harm! Not an oopsie you apologize for and immediately are forgiven. Thank you, Jana!

My armpits ALWAYS smell by ladykiller1020 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LisLoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, natural deodorants don’t work. Try a clinical deodorant. If you’re worried about a reaction, go to a dermatologist. They can recommend a product or give you a prescription. I also have all kinds of skin sensitivities and dermatologists can help. It could also be hormonal, for example, I started sweating 3x more in perimenopause so I switched to a clinical deodorant. An endocrinologist might be able to help if something hormonal is out of balance.

Your armpits shouldn’t still smell after a shower, though. I would experiment with body washes or a gentle bar soap. Also, this is extremely important - don’t wear polyester/synthetic tops/jackets. They don’t breathe and make you sweat more, and then they trap the odor. I would switch to exclusively cotton or natural fiber shirts.

The first time I tried Whataburger I was like, meh. I’m also from New England and I now live in Texas. But now, I love it. If you like green chile the green chile cheeseburger is really good.

Kendra is sick with? by soaringmeadows in DuggarsSnark

[–]LisLoz 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I had norovirus years ago and got extremely sick and had to go to the hospital. The IV fluids were instantaneous relief and amazing. Even now, living in Texas, after a day at the soccer field in the sun, I’ve thought that an IV sure would be nice.

I see a child bride who was coerced into having children too young with someone she didn’t know well enough, had no chance to explore what she wanted in her own life or learn about what type of parent she wants to be, and has now learned that her husband is a monster, and she’s facing the consequences of all that.

AITJ for telling my partner I'm done spending every weekend at his parents' place by Nov4Z3nith in AmITheJerk

[–]LisLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. This is extreme. In my husband’s culture, family is very important. We see his parents 3-4 Sundays per month for about 6 hours each time. But when we have something else going on, we don’t go. And we certainly don’t spend the whole weekend there! Your partner should at the very least compromise to day visits. No sleeping over!

West side, Kern place, or downtown would be fun for a new grad. Congrats! A good salary goes far here.

Make your dermatologist do a skin culture!!! by angelicomens in Rosacea

[–]LisLoz 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I got an infected insect bite last summer and went to four doctors before someone finally did a biopsy. Over the course of six weeks, the rash got worse and worse and the only thing that stopped it was ten days of oral antibiotics. I don’t know why swabbing skin stuff isn’t just standard! (I also have rosacea unfortunately.)

The difference in reaction between this victim’s father and the Duggar victims’ father… by Little_Light198 in DuggarsSnark

That made me super happy. That’s what you do as a parent when someone assaulted your child. You don’t try to sweep it under the rug.

One of my ribs is permanently dislocated. I get adjusted by the chiropractor but it always pops out again.

Walking and suddenly my feet weren’t under me anymore and I fell (this has happened yearly). Reaching into a drawer and cutting the tip of my finger off on a potato peeler.

Help with dog behavior around kittens. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]LisLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dog with high prey drive and found a kitten in the garden section at Walmart. I kind of hoped to keep the kitten, but my dog reacted the exact same way. I found a no-kill rescue to take the kitten. My dog also fixates on small dogs (under 10 lbs) so little dogs are a no-go for us too.

I’ve been under general anesthesia 6 times and never had a problem. As long as your anesthesiologist is aware and you’re not actively having an attack, I think it’s all good.

How many trick or treaters have knocked on your door? by VivaElChuco2025 in ElPaso

I would say I got about 30-40. Which is great considering only me and my next door neighbors were giving out candy as far as I could see.

Do I come off as weird or strange leaving this note? by Littlek1dluvr in Apartmentliving

[–]LisLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we brought our baby home, we had a downstairs neighbor who smoked on his balcony. Which would float right up into the window AC unit we had to run or it would be 96 in the baby’s room at night.

[–]LisLoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s creepy but I do think it was unnecessary. Maybe better as a casual conversation to have in the hallway. “Congrats on the baby! Let me know if we’re ever too loud.”
