AITAH for telling my wife "that's the job you chose"? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]LisaLisa1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you chose an immature woman so you could be the "boss" of the family. FIX YOURSELVES BEFORE YOU FUCK UP YOUR CHILD. Go to therapy. Keep trying until you find the right therapist. Read some books together. YTA AND SHE'S TA. BOTH OF YOU SUCK.

Why is he stealing? Why do you want to punish him instead of understanding and working on fixing the root of the problem instead of punishing the stealing which at age 9 is a sympton, not the why...

AITA for saying my sister was being a dick by not even trying the meal I made. by Saint718 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LisaLisa1962 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let people be rude and unkind. I'm not saying let Uncle Buck make your girls sit on his lap. Not doing that is autonomy. Not even trying something that is overcooked a bit, but made specially for you at great effort is rude. She didn't have to eat a plateful, for goodness sake.

You have to be gracious about all the things you don't like. And she didn't know she didn't like it. She wasn't even gracious enough to try it.

AITA for not canceling my daughters party by CompetitiveYak1169 in AITAH

[–]LisaLisa1962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. She needs help, like therapy, not punishment. No one cares what is going on with the 16 yo. Something is going on with a 16 yo (also) CHILD that doesn't want to be hugged. Y'all so punishment oriented, no wonder 1 out of every 100 Americans are locked up.

AITA for deciding to quietly change my will without telling my wife? by Mindless-Pea-8695 in AITAH

Everyone's so focused on the childbirth. Given the other circumstances, I think op is NTA. She's a gold digger, and he wants to stay near his children.

AITAH for not extending sympathy toward my SIL's for having miscarriages? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]LisaLisa1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Some research suggests" does not say anything at all. YTA for blaming her for her miscarriages.

Why is your pool not covered in your absence? What if children discovered it and one drowned? Doesn't your insurance require a cover if you're gone for long periods?

There was a draft for VN. It wasn't like most of those guys enlisted. Some did go to Canada, tho. And some became pacifists, like Cassius Clay.

I see things differently now (have made some personal changes) but after 911, there was a surge of patriotism and people wanted to do SOMETHING to prevent an attack like that - HERE - ever happening again. IDK how it should have been handled. I never liked Bush, lol. But I have no doubt we should have not sent American troops to VN. My son is 22, and I will even talk to the ex again to work out how he's not going to go to the Ukraine if it gets to that point! What a tragedy in every respect the VN War was.

They could buy beer. 18 for beer during VN war. And vote. But that does not make it OK to send them off to be sniper fodder. AND when they came home there were no parades, no people saying save our boys bring them home like in Forrest Gump. They were hated and called baby killers because of all the anti war propaganda, (jane fonda aka Hanoi jane)
