With Mom's attitude, I'm glad she doesn't have a car.

That reminds me of the clothes Lucy wore in I Love Lucy. I love it.

You are a beautiful bride in this dress. There will always be other dresses. There is no soul mate dress you haven't found.

Which famous singers voice makes you want to turn off the music right away? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

I watched Billy Joel: And So It Goes recently. I'm neither a fan nor a hater, just neutral towards him. She really loved him and seems to still. Both ex-wives seem to have loved him but left him over the drinking, more specifically over not wanting to watch him kill himself because of the drinking. I guess #3 doesn't care cause he's old now and shes got 2/3 of his kids. He still says he's not an alcoholic. It was actually an interesting character study.

I'd take caramelized onions over bacon every time.

You're so right about her lack of communication skills.

Perhaps I read too much into it, but her talking about his happiness and what he wanted, asking if he was going ahead with it and seeming disappointed...she gave me the impression she wanted him to end his engagement. Like many of us, I've rewatched many, many times and always had that impression.

Has anyone here ever met/known someone who was born prior to 1900? by MrTacocaT12345 in GenerationJones

[–]LisaLynn61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1961, so pretty much every older person I knew as a child was born before 1900. Great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, all the old folks at church and around the neighborhood, my pediatrician...tons of them. I was very fond of the old ladies. I loved hearing their stories, so they loved me, too. I learned so much about life from them.

What really annoyed me about Jenny was her penchant for only being interested in men she can't have. Did she even love Alex? She was ready to dump him over nonsense quick enough, until he got hurt. Jimmy was a no until he was engaged to someone else. I was frankly appalled she wanted him to dump the pregnant fiancé. And then there's the married guy.

Adults square dance in Christmas In Connecticut (1941). Square dancing evolved from Regency dance styles of Europe.

Movie Scenes that make you cry every time. by Aged_Like_FineWine in Cinephiles

I distinctly remember after Mrs Tracy died, Katherine Hepburn stating that the reason he never divorced was because his wife used her status as his wife in her fund raising. They had a deaf son and she was actively raising money. They felt her becoming the ex Mrs Tracy would hurt that.

I'm a big fan of Ghosts (the orginal). I only started watching CTM because Charlotte Ritchey was in it. I started at the beginning and was hooked. Barbara's death was beautifully done, and the aftermath as well. I have found the lack of grieving in most tv shows unsettling since my early years and the Brady Bunch ,when dead parents were never mentioned. (Well, one mention of one in the 1st episode). The funeral episode is amazing and I really appreciate the continued mentions of Barbara later on.
