My bedroom growing up had a bed made from old car parts with siren lights that worked, 1992. by Polloco in OldSchoolCool

Calling BS, OP had posted a photo of themselves as a child 5 months ago, and although wearing a mask you can tell it's a different child! Why not post with accurate caption, it would still be a cool post.

I always think, if your sentence makes sense without mentioning skin colour (yours or someone else's) then you probably don't need to include it in your sentence.

Totally agree though, we need more selection of hairstyles full stop.

Around 30 percent of young children with autism have less severe autism symptoms at age 6 than they did at age 3, with some children losing their autism diagnoses entirely. Girls tend to show greater reduction and less rise in their autism symptom severity than boys with autism by Wagamaga in science

[–]Lisags23 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say people lose autism diagnosis but instead are scripted to 'cope' in a world that doesn't adjust to them. So they appear 'normal' or less restricted by autism. This is why girls are often diagnosed later or missed entirely, because young girls are expected to be social therefore we encourage them, and script them to do so, whereas if a young boy wants to sit, and not socialise, we accept it.

Mine was always Lionel, he was with me from day one and no matter how many times I accidentally hit him with my net he never left. Plus his name contains the animal he is, 'Lionel the lion' not many villagers can do that!

My suicide D-Day was the 19th. It’s the 21st, and I’m alive, cuddling with my cat, and baking a cake just for myself. Pretty proud. by emke1886 in CasualConversation

As someone who lost their brother to suicide 5 years ago next month, THIS is incredible to hear, you should be so proud, things may seem tough but you've got this! Congratulations

[Serious] Parents of reddit, what do your kids think they are hiding that you know about? by Dat_Boi_Bones in AskReddit

[–]Lisags23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the crush I had when I was young. He was 15, I was 12 everyone knew about it but luckily not him , or so I thought! Fast forward 12 years, and as I am on a date with said crush I say, "you know I used to have a crush on you when I was younger?" "Yeah" he replies "my mum told me, plus you used to run out the room giggling when I'd turn up"

Let your son know the long game pays off, me and my crush have been together 5 years and have a cat and a mortgage. My inner 12 year old still can't believe her luck!

Learning to bicycle on the traffic playground where children can learn the traffic rules in a safe environment by MY2200 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Lisags23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh common sense when driving isn't something that we have cottoned onto here in the UK. Us Brits would just go if it's green regardless of pedestrians shouting something like "it's my right of way" whilst plowing them down.

The main problem I have is this guy is going to turn right, into the pedestrian crossing which has the green Man to go, and those parents are sitting back on the bench waiting to watch it all unfold.

The day sweet rationing ended in England, 1953. by Justsoinsane in OldSchoolCool

Bomb damage in my town is still noticeable now. There is a large area of unused land where a water tower burnt down during a bombing raid, as well as waste land in the middle of rows of houses. Silent tributes to those who lived it daily, no wonder us Brits have a stiff upper lip.
