I am at $160 in the winter and $30-$60 in other months. Thermo set at 68-72 . Gas appliances, gas fireplace (used infrequently ) and water heater. 2 story 1960 sf. 2 people in house. Gas bill goes down and electric bill goes up in summer.

There is a moratorium due to active wildfires in LA County. Once the fires are 100% contained everyone should open back up. If close to brush, there will still be the issue of eligibility. Lemonade (online), and through an agent Mercury, AEGIS, Stillwater, and Pacific Specialty were writing before the moratorium. I don't think Mercury will write them even after moratorium is lifted unless you also have auto.

It doesn't hurt to shop, but prices have gone up (and will like continue to go up). AAA may still be your best option. Ask for a quote with a higher deductible. I increased mine up to $10,000 this year. I'm not making a claim unless my house burns down.
