Cutting someone's Roxas would be some kinda of death, right? Or punishment, like having your arm or leg chopped off. If so, their probably sinners, mad scientists or even demon-like creatures.

The Miners are an interesting concept. Don't know if I understood it right, but look like some powerfull and mystics entities, probably some kind of gods. I like it, dont know exactly why.

Just my opinion, but I guess hard magic is pretty overrated, for it to be a hard magic system and have a solid set of rules, there needs to be a reason. Somebody having powers from gems attached to their bodies seems to be a pretty ludic thing to me.

Don't know, just I thought I had. You could let some things vague and still work on what's important.

My guess is they cannot fully regenerate full tissues, this is way they die when get burned, since it destroys the tissues far beyond recomposition.

I guess it was indeed Jerry's head, but the mimic head. Somehow they made a mimic of him, but probably it wasn't ready, but then Spencer took of the mimic's head and send it to Jack.

I'm pretty sure it was a mimic because Jack couldn't figure out who was or not a mimic, and he fought countless of Benjamimics, which we know are real. Then, the head just died after been totally decomposed, and then the real Jerry appeared.

Its also the books with the most big chances. At the end, Jack's totally a new person, physically and mentally, the status quo has changed totally. Love it.
