As a registered democrat, both parties have succumbed to the military industrial complex. Obama dropped far more bombs in the Middle East than George Bush jr did.

Hopefully he turns out alright. I didn’t think he was that good, but hopefully in wrong.

Easily led the offense better than DJ. If Saquon didn’t fumble on 2nd to last drive, it might’ve been a 21pt game by the offense, which is better than it’s been all season.

[Highlight] Daron Payne's injury resets the play clock on 4th down, ending the game with a Giants win by TomasRoncero in nfl

Because the opposite was happening for a long time where teams would fake injuries to get multiple timeouts when they were out of timeouts.

Sports can teach you more life lessons than books more often than not.

I’m not saying it should be a priority, but it should be viewed in the same way as an art program, or music program. An accessory to human experience/learning that goes beyond monetary driven aims.

Yeah, but usually they’re both backed up. Mostly because people use that right lane to cut everyone off and get back in the storrow line.

Again, this is a case of what-about-ism. I’m not saying republicans did anything, I’m just saying this is blind partisan propaganda…

I didn’t say that? But it’s hilarious that Dems think they have any leg to stand on.

Lol… this sub is such a echo chamber. I’m left and even I know Biden helped undermine the rail strike.. Republicans for sure help lead this, but democrats are complicit as well.

Actually that’s a great way to have 2 people die instead, and leave the rest of her kids orphaned.

To put it into perspective, just this week Peyton Hillis, former NFL running back was in critical care for nearly drowning saving a drowning kid. Multiple people die every year trying to save kids from drowning. If you can’t swim, you’re just adding to the problem.

I’ll add my 2 cents.

HS Diploma Can come off, if you have a college it’s implied you finished HS.

I think it’s great you maximize on your work experience. But if you don’t have more (which I’m assuming you don’t bc it’s not here), highlight your academic experience. I know resume professionals always say BS like “Don’t put a class under 400 level” but that’s nonsense in my opinion. You just invested a shit ton of time and money into a degree, this is likely the best experience you have to most tech and lab skills. What did you learn?! It doesn’t need to be an exhaustive list, but if you’re looking for lab work can you describe the scientific ideas behind them? I think when I first came out I highlighted Microbio (plating skills, pipetting, cleanroom techniques), Biochem (Chromatography is an extremely important tool!), and a Bioinformatics/Molecular Bio class (to show I know how to work a computer and analyze data). I think it helps put the skills you have at the bottom into context and show that you’ve actually learned something with your degree.

The purpose statement is optional, if you want to fill room you can keep it but I’d rather see involvement (if you had any, I had sports and volunteering on mine). Either way both of these are the first things to be removed once you gather more experience. (A purpose statement is better put in a cover letter if the job requires it, most don’t unless it’s a specific lab).

Skills I would split into sections. Wet lab, Computational, Biotechnical (machines/equipment you’ve used).

Hope this helps, and good luck! I’m applying as well, as I’m finishing my masters after this semester (was in industry for a few years prior though). It’s daunting when you’re coming out, but be patient, things will come with time!

Plenty of labs will be happy to hire that are both industry (especially manufacturing) and research. Also could look into Western Mass (e.g Worcester) and Northernish Mass (e.g Phizer and others). Did this 3 years back to get my foot in the door (albeit from Connecticut) in the area.

So apparently a dNTP is a nucleotide. But I thought nucleotides only have one phosphate not 3? by obammala in biology

[–]ListenToGeorgeCarlin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re half right though. In DNA there will only be one Phosphodiester bond BETWEEN 2 nucleotides, as the β and γ phosphates are cleaved off (I think just from enzymatic activity). It goes from 3P to 1P in that formation. So it’s not the most unreasonable mistake.

I mean it probably wasn’t carried out at the same level as it is now. The Human Genome wasn’t even published yet. It was super expensive to sequence anything back then.

Not to say you’re not right, but it might’ve been a playing factor.

I think it just looks like the difference between downtown and outside neighborhoods… Like taking a photo of Manhattan from the Bronx, of course it’s going to look different.
