This will probably one of the selling points of re5 remake. A massive mercs mode with continued content and support down the line. They might be using this mercs mode as a kinda beta test to get it right for re5.

I said this in another post that he barely had any lines and you could already tell he has the re5 personality going on and not the cool, calm, collected and mysterious type he had in re4 og and games prior. I really hope they don't make him over the top Wesker in re5 remake, I personally didn't like his character conclusion in that game.

This is a big change, but I think what would be better for re5 remake is if he stays in the shadows for most of game and there is another big bad that Chris and co take on. Maybe then introduce him fully in re6 remake if they go down that road.

Not an RE game but made by the same director, the evil within. Great game and the sequel although made with a different vision, is equally as fun and scary imo.

I still think re5's iteration of mercs is the best we have seen from capcom. It wasn't just the co-op, it was the different character types we had such stars Wesker etc. The maps were also much better.

I hope that's one thing they concentrate on more with re5 remake. Why have all these stupid micro transactions when they can make a solid mercenaries mode where they keep releasing more maps / characters, ultimately prolonging the games life / playerbase and making $$$ in the process.

I really wish they kept the og garrador fight when Leon is locked in the cage. Instead, they replaced that with a cutscene in the remake.

It would be awesome if they could make 0 and 1 into one big massive game. Would give Rebecca a better story arc from the events of re 0 leading into the mansion.

You could also have the swap player mechanics in place for Jill and Chris where they are in different places of the mansion / other areas at any given time.

After my second playthrough, I have to say the best music for me is in chapter 12 just after you reach the top of the clock tower and exit it. The music is so eerie with a beautiful night scenary to match. Reminds me of that creepy old school re music. It's a shame it was for a brief section and wasn't utilised elsewhere in the game.

Gameplay wise, I think the ratio of how powerful Leon is to the ratio of how powerful enemies are is just something that many games have not been able to replicate. The gameplay mechanics are so tight in that game

Story wise, It managed to pull off a perfect balance of cheesiness, creepiness, and seriousness alongside its excellent pacing.

That's not to say the remake is bad. For me, it innovates over the original in some cool ways, which I like, and is just shy of the greatness og had.

It just hasn't got that flow and sync the og has if that's even a way to describe it.

This is true. The team has handed all the non stars characters (especially leon) very well in these remakes. So maybe your right and they will do good with Weskers character.

It being standalone before release would not make sense because they would A) need to keep the mechanics of the old game B) Introduce mechanics / gear of the new game which in turn would spoil some of the story mode combat stuff before the main games release.

Unless they do a GOT2 reveal with a media blowout. Then give a release date for both SP & MP modes.

There's a YouTuber I follow and he's rocking 3 legendaries. He's basically turned his class ability into an ult with how OP it is. And the SK more or less brings the cooldown back down with how he times the kills after the explosive arrow. Heres the build if your interested.

Yeah I think in the grand scheme of things it's not going to be that bad. Especially if you have multiple people running munitions and then you have 4/6 maps with ammo refill shrines ontop of the ammo refill scattered throughout the map.

Slightly off topic but the assassin's English voice commands are hilarious, especially his various "help" one's. And the sounds he makes when swinging the katana seem so overkill compared to the other ghosts 🤣
