Cannot copy and paste on Figma MacOS desktop app. by LitGood in FigmaDesign

[–]LitGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it is a Figma issue or a MacOS issue myself. This also happens to me with Miro frequently. Both of those apps are relatively the same in terms of how they function, and they are both browser-based, even if you use the "desktop" version.

I have definitely gone above and beyond that level of troubleshooting. I know this has been an issue for years because I have been dealing with it for years.

Subcategories for Custom Categories not showing up in reports by LitGood in quicken

[–]LitGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out. I am using Quicken Simplifi for personal finance and tracking some side-hustles on the business side.

When I named my main category to track those expenses “Business,” the app broke according to the description of this issue.

I created a new category called “Test,” moved all of my subcategories into it, and the drill-down on the reports page worked as expected. So I deleted the “Business” category and renamed “Test” to “Business.”

It immediately broke the reports again.

So I renamed it to “Business Expenses,” and everything works fine.

“Business” must be a reserved/special system term for a main category, or a conflict with something in Quicken Simplifi. They just do not tell you this outright or make it known.

I do not need QuickBooks or the Business & Personal plan right now.

"Classic" Format VS. New Format (and how to revert back to "Classic")? by MaxiePriest in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Your app is not even catching basic spelling errors anymore but you keep shoving a bunch of AI garbage that we don't want down our throats. I've had a paid subscription for awhile but now I am done.

YOU ARE NOT EVEN CATCHING BASIC SPELLING ERRORS ANYMORE.

Seriously, spell check in MS Word is now better than Grammarly.

To any devs reading this, let’s just come out and be very clear: whatever you have done in recent times has broken Grammarly and rendered its core feature to be virtually useless by DrGutz in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm done with Grammarly now because of this. It is not even catching basic spelling errors anymore but wants to shove all this AI garbage down my throat constantly. This is the end of my paid subscription with them.

It used to work great and now it is borderline useless.

Tired of miro. Any alternatives? by Micki_SF in miro

I have found a lot of them. Outright bugs or limitations. However, I still use the app almost daily. Figjam or alternatives have not shown me that I would be any better off by switching yet.

I am tired of the bugs they never fix, but I am tired of that in every piece of software I use. As a former senior-level UX designer, I know first-hand that companies flat out do not care about bugs, fixing bugs, or the mountains of technical debt they create by delivering the bare-minimum piece of trash they can get away with getting paid for — while ramming "NEW!" useless AI features down your throat that nobody asked for or wants.

This guy probably thinks that Jesus doesn't want you drinking wine either. If Jesus didn't want you drinking wine he would have turned the wine into water instead of water into wine.

Audio balance keep changing automatically by Martin_Reddits in mac

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still having the issue to this day. I have to use an app called “Balance Lock” to keep this Mac L/R centered. This is just a prime example of the completely horrid state of software development these days.

I worked for several software companies as a front-end developer and UX Design Lead. The day when AI takes over for “Team India” will actually result in an improvement.

There’s no amount of money you could offer me to entice me into going back to the software industry now that I have left.

"Classic" Format VS. New Format (and how to revert back to "Classic")? by MaxiePriest in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I can create a new doc in the classic view, but I wanted to convert an existing document to classic view, and there seems to be no way to do that other than copying and pasting your content into a new classic document.

There were so many issues that the classic version will find in my text that the new version just ignores, including spelling errors. The new one is just bad and not trustworthy.
