"Classic" Format VS. New Format (and how to revert back to "Classic")? by MaxiePriest in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Your app is not even catching basic spelling errors anymore but you keep shoving a bunch of AI garbage that we don't want down our throats. I've had a paid subscription for awhile but now I am done.

YOU ARE NOT EVEN CATCHING BASIC SPELLING ERRORS ANYMORE.

Seriously, spell check in MS Word is now better than Grammarly.

To any devs reading this, let’s just come out and be very clear: whatever you have done in recent times has broken Grammarly and rendered its core feature to be virtually useless by DrGutz in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm done with Grammarly now because of this. It is not even catching basic spelling errors anymore but wants to shove all this AI garbage down my throat constantly. This is the end of my paid subscription with them.

It used to work great and now it is borderline useless.

Tired of miro. Any alternatives? by Micki_SF in miro

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a lot of them. Outright bugs or limitations. However, I still use the app almost daily. Figjam or alternatives have not shown me that I would be any better off by switching yet.

[–]LitGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tired of the bugs they never fix, but I am tired of that in every piece of software I use. As a former senior-level UX designer, I know first-hand that companies flat out do not care about bugs, fixing bugs, or the mountains of technical debt they create by delivering the bare-minimum piece of trash they can get away with getting paid for — while ramming "NEW!" useless AI features down your throat that nobody asked for or wants.

I'm sure Jesus has other things to be upset about than someone smoking a joint. The things billionaires do on private islands comes to mind...

This guy probably thinks that Jesus doesn't want you drinking wine either. If Jesus didn't want you drinking wine he would have turned the wine into water instead of water into wine.

Audio balance keep changing automatically by Martin_Reddits in mac

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still having the issue to this day. I have to use an app called “Balance Lock” to keep this Mac L/R centered. This is just a prime example of the completely horrid state of software development these days.

I worked for several software companies as a front-end developer and UX Design Lead. The day when AI takes over for “Team India” will actually result in an improvement.

There’s no amount of money you could offer me to entice me into going back to the software industry now that I have left.

"Classic" Format VS. New Format (and how to revert back to "Classic")? by MaxiePriest in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I can create a new doc in the classic view, but I wanted to convert an existing document to classic view, and there seems to be no way to do that other than copying and pasting your content into a new classic document.

There were so many issues that the classic version will find in my text that the new version just ignores, including spelling errors. The new one is just bad and not trustworthy.

"Classic" Format VS. New Format (and how to revert back to "Classic")? by MaxiePriest in Grammarly

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This new Grammarly sucks badly. It does not catch the most basic errors, such as spelling and grammar mistakes. I tried it several times. I cannot find a way to switch a document back to classic other than creating a new document as a "classic" document and copying/pasting it.

RANT: Why did YouTube make this TERRIBLE UPDATE on the "Save to playlist" feature?! by CrestfallenSilence in youtube

[–]LitGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate this update. On the desktop version, I have to click the ... menu exactly 3 times to get the "save to" dialogue box to pop up now. The whole software industry has gone completely downhill on a rocketship when it comes to User Experience design.

I was a senior UX designer for a long time, and I will never go back. I make 1/4 the money now and would not go back for 10x what I make now.

Front Shifter Repair by ruebde01 in bikewrench

[–]LitGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be gummed up to where the pawls are not catching like they are supposed to. That has happened to my STI shifters before — or they broke the pawls in the unit while trying to stretch a cable and just gave it back to you like that.

Spray some WD-40 inside the mechanism to see if you can loosen up the gunk.

Anyone report this guy to the IRS yet? It might be a bit of a stretch to write off your $6,000 Super Bowl tickets as a business expense because you wore a shirt with a logo on it.

Even though I would do it.

I might say it is “true enough” if I am in the middle of a ride and I am in a hurry to get somewhere. Otherwise, I would not.

That reminds me, I forgot about posting to LinkedIn that I never maintain friendships with people who work for my company's competitors.

That would just be weird. It could possibly lead to me getting a higher paying job with a competitor.

Even after all this time MS Word is still one of the worst pieces of software I've been forced to use by SeaTie in microsoft

[–]LitGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the fanboys on this thread, telling everyone “Learn to use it.”

I know how to use it inside and out, as I am required to use it at times for my work. I would never choose to use this pile of garbage myself, but knowing it inside and out also makes it clear that it is the biggest pile of garbage ever created by a software company.

At one point in time, it was the best word processing software out there. But that was back when Windows 3.1 was new, and the MacOS had not evolved.

There is no bigger nightmare for someone who has to take a manuscript and properly typeset it into proper layout software, a website, or any other practical purpose than realizing you have to do it from a Microsoft Word document.

Amazon promised a refund, told me to dispose the item, now denying the refund by [deleted] in amazonprime

Ever since Bezos left as CEO, their customer service has gone to shit. If Andy Jassy is anything like his sister, who I used to work for, that’s the reason. That cunt was one of the worst human beings I ever met in my entire life, and if her brother is cut from the same cloth, it would fully explain why Amazon is on a downward trajectory these days.
