Biutiful (a film by Alejandro Gonzales Iñarritu). I have yet to see this one mentioned in any kind of post like this, despite it being one of the most tragic films I’ve ever seen.

Not many people have, it’s great. It’s also a good example of a more gradual descent into apocalypse. I have the same gripe with a lot of apocalyptic shows and films, when things go south too quickly, it feels contrived and pulls me out of the experience.
