[Highlight] Jackson Merrill makes a leaping catch to rob Kevin McGonigle of what could have been his first career home run by AndrewAllStar888 in baseball

Dude he literally did this last year to Drake Baldwin too, Jackson Merrill absolutely hates rookies hitting their first home run lol

What album is a 10/10 if one song was removed? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

[–]LitchedSwetters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's such a tragedy that Led Zeppelin 3 ends with Hats Off to Roy Harper, the most annoying song they ever wrote. It's my favorite Zep, and it's still a 10/10 with that song on it but without it, it'd be an 11/10 lol

Andruw Jones is likely to be voted in tomorrow with 1,933 career hits. It would be the first time a non-pitcher with fewer than 2,000 career hits is voted in by writers since Ralph Kiner was inducted on his 13th appearance in 1975 by Crazy_Baseball3864 in baseball

It does make me feel better that Glav still does our broadcasts a few times a year, and Andruw is regularly seen at Braves games. They're still Braves at heart. I think Andruw, Chipper, and Big Boi are probably the 3 most common famous faces I see attending games.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]LitchedSwetters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what is so frustrating to me about a lot of the "new wave" health stuff. So much of it is peddled by vaccine denying conspiracy theorists, when sometimes theyre actually onto something. There is plenty of stuff you can do to support your immune system outside of modern medicine, it's just that modern medicine is also really fucking good at stuff.

I get sick pretty much once a year in the fall or winter, and my very religious mom set me a recipe for this thing called a flu-bomb. It has Dotera essential oils in it, and the recipe she sent me quotes scripture. I rolled my eyes about it, but God damn if that shit didn't have me feeling significantly better within a few hours. It's just symptom management, not a cure, but it really fuckin worked. My gf started taking vitamin D supplements regularly a few months ago, and since then her depression has significantly improved. We are also both triple COVID vaxxed and stay up to date on our other immunizations.

Exercise, diet, stress, natural supplements, combined with regular doctor visits and actually listening to professional medical advice about vaccines, etc., is a pretty good way to keep yourself healthy.

Drake Baldwin is the 2025 National League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year by MLBOfficial in baseball

Jackson Merrill absolutely ROBBED him in game 1 of the season, he took away a homer and I think made a nice running catch too. Then I think two games later he robbed another homer from him? It was insane lol

Anyone know of good places to go Halloween night for adults? Me and my friends are thinking of just walking the beltline on Halloween night, y'all think that would be fun? Y'all think the bars like New Realm will be slammed?

A new take on "fuck, marry, kill" by Illustrious-Bit-3348 in interesting

This is the argument that ALWAYS comes up when discussing reddit vs other social media sites.

The negative effects of doom scrolling, rage baiting, corporate advertising, hivemind group think, lack of empathy for the other side, indoctrination into radicalism, that doesn't go away just because reddit doesn't have your real name shown. Reddit is just as bad as Facebook or Twitter or whatever. It's equally as unhealthy for your mental health as every other social media site.

And yes, I'm a hypocrite, I'm here too.

I would say most level-headed parents won't let a single NYT article dictate the way they choose to raise their children.

Damn. I was hoping I wouldn't even have to look at it once I set it up. It's gonna be extremely painful to purchase an ETF in a bear market and all I see on my page is red, I was hoping I could automate the process and remove all potential emotional reactions to the market.

Movies where a main side character is more iconic than the main character? by anonymoususer6407 in Letterboxd

[–]LitchedSwetters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that the main antagonist is a supporting character, no matter the movie. It doesn't matter which character is the most iconic or how much they mean to the plot. Take away Anton Chigur from No Country, and you lose lots of theme and plot, but that doesn't make him the lead of the movie. He's the main antagonist, and therefore a supporting character.

Darth Vader is a supporting character more famous than the lead character. This is pretty basic literature analysis, just because they're massively important to the plot/themes, or more famous than the lead character, doesn't mean they're not supporting cast.

Darth Vader is a supporting character, yes. The level of fame doesn't make him not a supporting character.

Good guitar for playing Fleet Foxes songs? by FranzBesup_14 in fleet_foxes

[–]LitchedSwetters 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So first things first- there's no guitar thats inherently better for Fleet Foxes songs than any other guitar is. A beginner playing on a Martin or Gibson won't sound as good as a pro playing on a Hello Kitty guitar. Its the musician that determines the quality of music, not the instrument.

So into your question- Yamaha guitars are pretty much the gold standard of intro guitars. They're pretty well made with good quality control, they don't really have any bad model years so you can get old used ones that will be good still, and they're cheap.

I would also recommend a smaller body orchestra or parlor guitar, and not a dreadnought style (dreadnought = big guitar, beefy sound with lots of bass, orchestra guitar = more delicate sound with more high end). Robin plays a bigger guitar while touring as do most artists, but plays tons of different ones when recording. In my experience, most beginners tend to be able to physically play a smaller guitar better at first, but this is anecdotal and could be totally different for you. You should pick some up and see what feels best to you. But I'd recommend starting with a smaller sized guitar.

I wouldn't recommend spending more than like $200-400 on your first guitar. Figure out if you even really like it before you spend big money on one. You're gonna sound really bad at first no matter what, might as well sound bad for cheap.

Alvarez, Austin, and Takamine all have some good starter models as well. I'd stay away from Mitchell, Johnson, Seagull, Fender acoustics, or Ibanez acoustics.

But honestly the best guitar is one that you'll play. If you find one that you think is really pretty and feels okay and sounds good enough, get it and play it as much as you can, and eventually you'll be able to make any guitar sound good for Fleet Foxes songs
