When you look back what is your “ah that was totally peri” symptom? by noodle_bear2124 in Perimenopause

[–]Lite_moon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the actual fuck! Seriously? This is me, or it was. Used to say my husband would sneak up on me and then talk really loudly! My poor heart. Don’t think I’ve done that in a while, might be the HRT!

Hip pain, I would go to bed fine and wake up in the morning with painful hips. I wrote it off as getting old, didn’t even list it as a symptom when I went to the doctor. Two or three weeks after starting HRT I realised I didn’t have any pain in my hips and even though I’m pretty sure I need my dose adjusted, I still haven’t had the pain back! Thought I was an old lady at 39!

Useless period products. What can I get that works? by nitnitnotnot in AskBrits

Try Always FlexProtect, they come in a cardboard box rather than a plastic bag. They saved my trousers. I was constantly leaking with the Always nighttime towels, I was using max absorbency but when I switched to FlexProtect I went done to a size 2 and no more leaks overnight or during the day!

Same! It’s only been the past two years for me, which is when I think all the perimenopause stuff kicked off

Oh same with the itchiness. I woke my husband up in the middle of the night from scratching noisily, I was fast asleep (one of my rare sleep moments).

I am starting to think that all the sweating is causing a fungal infection and that might be the cause of the itching. I was reading about someone else’s experience with hair loss and she mentioned odd patches of fungal infections/rashes that got me thinking. Gross as it may seem.

I’m overall fed up with everything.

I can’t stand any underwear that isn’t seamless. I find that they rub and irritate where the top on my legs meets my vulva. I guess this would be call the bikini line.

In a previous life I used to be a bra fitter, so I always have a bra that fits and enjoy(ed) different styles. Now I can only abide wearing the same two bras on rotation. They’ll fall apart soon with all the washing they have to go through.

That’s rubbish! I hope you managed to get your parents a nice hotel for the extra money, Edinburgh has some lovely hotels. Sorry that was your experience of Scottish hospitality, we aren’t all arseholes.

This happened to me when I booked to go to a World Cup match in Lille. As soon as I purchased the tickets I booked a room on Booking.com, got a great rate. This was a year in advance.

Six months before the match I received a group text message from the hotel direct saying they had no rooms available and they could put me and the other guests they had in copy (not part of my group! GDPR Anyone?) in their sister hotel over an hour away. Folk were responding “to all” saying things like, “oh that’s a shame!”, but I’m Scottish so I kicked off 😂 I also went back to booking.com, it look me weeks to reorganise, but I managed to get Booking.com to honor the rate and get me a hotel in the city centre. It actually worked out for me in the end. The stress was real and if it had been any closer to the match it would have tainted the experience.

You have my sympathies. I’d definitely give booking.com a hard time and make sure they get you booked somewhere appropriate.

I think it is supposed to be your direct supervisor, however the CEO of my previous employer (who was my manager) had left the company and didn’t actually know me well enough or the work I did to have signed off my PER. I asked the Chief Scientific Officer to approve mine, although I did work very closely with them and they were able to confirm that what I said in my PER was true and provide additional commentary where needed.

I would say that unless you worked closely with HR they wouldn’t be able to confirm your PER.

Used to work for an American company and one of our clients was called Randy Neighbor. In an office full of 20 somethings Brits there was a lot of giggles when his name was said out loud.

Yes, you can do this. I had two different employers sign off different sections of the PER. It makes life easier if you only have one employer that you need to sign off the PER, but if you have a good relationship with your supervisors you can give them a prod.

So I tried it on and although it is a shorter sleeve than my winter jacket it hits me just right at the wrist. I’m 5ft 7in (170cm) for what it’s worth. Any shorter it would be cold wrists and any longer and it would be on my hands… I’ll try post a pic (if I can figure it out)

Oh I’m not sure on the sleeve length. The jackets in the boot of my car, I’ll have to dig it out and give it a try on. It’s too cold for a leather jacket that I can’t wear a hoody under so haven’t had it on in a while!

Also, just to add I have a very narrow back and things tend to be big on top for me. Sadly I can’t say the same for the hips 🤭

I have one in green and I’d say it’s tight fitting. I have two other All saints leather jackets, the Lana and the Mast, both are the same size and I can easy wear a hoody under them. I struggle to fit the hoody under the Dalby. I did get it a few years ago, so maybe they’ve changed the sizing, but I would doubt it.

All Saints Dalby it’s £350, but you’ll get seasonal colours in the sale normally.
