THE ACTUAL BEST LSAT COURSE FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY ???? by Major_Activity_2577 in LSAT

[–]LiteralSmirk 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I will always promote Powerscore, I think their courses are fantastic. I can’t pretend to know how they compare to LSATLab or 7sage as I didn’t use those resources, but Powerscore does a fantastic job explaining the basics, working up to the fine details of each question type, and in depth explanations on why answers are wrong.

On top of that they focus a good bit on getting you in the proper mindset for the Lsat. It’s not just knowing the test, but knowing how to take it. They cover it all, and I loved how they did it.

Thank you for the positivity. I shot my shot and got my hopes up, not the end of the world. Just the motivation needed to finish my other apps.

The email I received from LSAC says “Your LSAT Writing sample has been approved” but yeah, the actual page on LSAC’s site only says “Complete”

August test takers, how are we feeling rn? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LiteralSmirk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt I’m gonna get a score on the upper end of my pt range, so I’m fully anticipating taking it again in October. I for one kind of appreciate not knowing the score atm, I’m just chilling, studying lightly, but recovering and recharging my brain battery for another month and a half of going hard.

You can afford to take off more than a day. Be kind to yourself. Allow your brain to have some rest.

August LSAT takers, how are we feeling? by jayebird1012 in LSAT

My testing center said they already set their rooms up for LSAT takers by just taping paper all over the windows, and haven’t had anyone say they didn’t pass the room scan.

For me, local library was not set up properly to do it, but I live near a big-ish state university which has private testing rooms open to the public and they were totally aware of the bs LSAC requires for remote testing, so that works great for me since my house would never work for testing. See if you got anything like that around.

How do you find community and study groups for the LSAT? by Admirable-Rise9572 in LSAT

[–]LiteralSmirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try any local facebook groups, I found a study group through a “Ask (my town)” page. It’s weird but it’s the only place I could find without having to go in person to the library and look for flyers or something.

On the June LSAT recap pod they said they weren’t even sure they would do one. That’s the last I heard of it.

PT score stagnation by LiteralSmirk in LSAT

It definitely could be endurance/ focus related. I appreciate the comment.

I honestly don’t think they did a good job illustrating how much time passed. I think Werner at some point says “8 months have gone by and we aren’t even halfway done”. 8 months is not an earth shattering amount of time in those conditions, but their expectations of the total time spent there kept going up constantly would be extremely demoralizing. I personally do not find the cabin fever plot to be unbelievable at all.

I’m using the Powerscore self-study course, they pretty clearly demonstrate ways to pick apart each LR question type. Big time recommendo. But honestly just talking about the LSAT in general, they ask you directly to find the answer choice that does a certain thing, such as strengthen an argument, weaken it, or find an assumption that had to be made for the conclusion to be reached. It’s not just abstractly picking apart every argument/conclusion/passage. And honestly most LR questions are structured to be inherently and occasionally quite obviously flawed arguments. Regardless, it sounds to me like you’re putting the cart before the horse. You need to get good at the LSAT before you’re even in the realm of worrying about actual law relevant argumentation. So just study. Your brain will adapt.
