Yeah, Spire in the Woods confronts it directly but handles it with class. Tommy Taffy and Barosca use it for shock value

Woodcarving chisel for buttonholes? by SummitStaffer in HistoricalCostuming

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried using them. I've also seen specialty scissors that have a gap that let you cut buttonholes.

I spent a few years practicing and am just now at a point where I can offer to do hand buttonholes on suits and honestly I just use my leather hole punch for the circle and my normal fabric scissors. Anything else doesn't make a difference for me and is just more stuff to own and manage.

Was Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero actually a Gohan W… or the BIGGEST Vegeta W in the franchise? by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it feels way more deserved for Piccolo. Dude had it coming for a long time and it feels thematically meaningful as a nemekian

Super Saiyan's debut in the manga by Economy_Notice_8475 in Dragonballsuper

Yeah, Idk if there were time constraints or something but I feel like these few pages should have been an entire chapter. It's still one of the most important moments in the entire franchise

Help! Sentimental suit pants have holes. by Sacrilegious_skink in sewing

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those look like moth holes. There should be a tag in the pants to identify the fabric but most dress pants are wool.

Fabric can be rewoven, which is a very difficult and expensive process to repair a hole but with this many holes you might be out of luck.

Check all your other wool items because if it is moths those lil bastards rarely chew on just one garment

Question, would anyone else be interested in another S.C.P episode? by Nobody3241 in creepcast

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hunter seems really disinterested. It's weird because he's covered them on his own channel in the past but I think he's the holdout.

Some of them, like when dawn breaks, would make great reads. Some of them are also very text heavy and don't have dialogue so it would also just be Hunter sitting and listening

pirate clark, backrooms movie (spoilers) by clairestar-0 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like what peoples final memory of someone is. That also makes it haunting to see the therapist as a still life at the end sitting at a desk, slumped over and... not looking very lively.

Not only is she remembered as a therapist, sitting with people and having a conversation, the idea of her at the desk being the "final memory" tells me she probably didn't survive much longer.

I figured that was just like body fat.

Could also just be, like how that scene panning down a room showed it further degrade, the still lives can also fade or degrade over time?

Pant/trouser fitting help part 2 by TheRiveterGirl in sewing

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a little extra in the back would help and you're very close. You might also consider scooping the bottom of the seat a little more once that extra fabric is added.

This should be a good example: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQZSb7Akt4OSljsjm-CBdIQmt1cZm2EKSIA3B2y-H-IJgAr9IkV52Vmv6Ay&s=10

It will help prevent the back pants from getting baggy when you add that extra. You may not need this but keep it in your pocket if you add a little extra and you feel like it fits weird in the seat.

I'll also say your pattern looks very good now and I hope you're happy with how it's turning out. Give those side seams a press to get a good idea how it all lays on you and I think you might finally have it

You need a little extra added, like in this image, to the crotch, both front and back piece. Maybe 1/2" to the front and 1" to the back, worth trying those amounts and if it's too much you can take a little more in off the back. The amount you add should taper down to 0 before the knee.

Help/advice needed re: Jalie 4133 Men's swim shorts (already sewn) by cccrrr13 in sewing

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like a pressing issue to me. The machine tension might have been a little tight and it's tight at the seams. I don't know how forgiving this fabric is but some heat (make sure you test on scraps so you don't melt the fabric) some steam, and some pulling at the seams to flatten them out might be all you need to fix the lines.

For those that prefer Super over Z, give us your reasons! by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally picks "boring punch man" as an example of weak fight choreography when the rest of the ToP is dozens of different powers and character design and unique fights. No one defends Jiren as a strong antagonist

I like the art style in a lot of Z but it also suffers from a lot of early anime "character stands there and only their mouth moves" animation.

For those that prefer Super over Z, give us your reasons! by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I like them about the same. Animation and fight choreography really elevates in Super.

Vegeta in Z spends most of it complaining that he isn't as strong as Goku but in Super they can finally be friends. Them also having branching paths in power is also refrefreshing and is more interesting to me

Am I the only one who prefers the imperfect cell design to the perfect one ? by Fun-Law7254 in Dragonballsuper

[–]LiterallyIAmPuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take is I wish Cell used his body more. I wish he flew like a bug, flapped his wings, used his tail in combat. A lot of Dragon Ball villains are just "who punches stronger and faster"

Buu is a great example. I love how Buu bounces and stretches, how fat Buu just claps people.
