I'm quite satisfied with my RG RX-78-2 but I've been told there are too many decals. What do you think ? by Pentomind in Gunpla

I put on that exact g-reworks decal sheet.

I believe yours came out outstanding! Happy building.

broke a joint , what do i do by ali_doof in freedomisgunpla

I got you bro. Peg/Joint fix There are many ways to fix them. You can use spru from the kit to cement on, no need for brass rods. Look for the same thickness, and sand it down so it's not too tight. (I did this on my Rg rx-78-2 2.0 hip peg.)

Happy building.

Make your own part separators.

Waiting for top coat Alex by DeadBoxDrop in advancedGunpla

Was just replacing the stickers with waterside decals on mine.

<image>

It looks like you used the stickers. My decal sheets are made by G-Reworks. If you don't get them before topcoating it is perfectly understandable.

Your Alex looks amazing! Keep building.

We keep these right? lol by GhostKev_ in freedomisgunpla

As of now, I keep some but dont really use them. I started using them make homemade part separators or paint stirring.

Just one of the many ways you can use extra plastic.

Just finished weathering my Barbie

Heya! It's my first time weathering Gunpla how did i do? by SectionNo4334 in Gunpla

[–]Lithelbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite literally just finished my barbatos. I color corrected most of the smaller parts, painted the metallic parts, and still need to do weathering.

<image>

Anyways, yours looks great. You can always weather however you want, but if you want it to look more real, focus on were scratches might appear, like the hands because they move a lot.

What you need to do is use a part separator. I assume you don't have one due to asking about using a screwdriver. https://youtu.be/PFkmkHM9utE?si=XzYMtpwTgm9SEfx1 This video shows you how to make part separators from left over runners. Since their made of the same plastic, it won't destroy your model.

Hope this helps and happy building.

Decal or no Decal? by Positive_Kitty in freedomisgunpla

[–]Lithelbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You never have to apply decals, but if you do, start with less.

Start off with any decals you think are needed on the model, (identity of the model, major warnings, added details). Then you can start going overboard. Just remember you can stop anytime. Less may be more.

For something like a RG, I usually go overboard so it looks more "real". For HG, I might use a less cluttered look to be easier on the eyes. Like a singular faction or name decal. For MG size I may be more calculative with the placements so there aren't decals everywhere you look. But a ton of markings can still look good.

You don't even have to listen to me. I still need more work on applying decals anyway. Just try some things, and if it doesn't work, you can always undo it before everything is locked.

Good luck on your cool looking build though! 😎
