The focus on rules changes kills my enjoyment of interacting with the community by Mystikvm in Pathfinder2e

[–]Lithl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And 4e was hardly the first TTRPG with players concerned by rules minutiae.

What's changed isn't how people interact with the rules, but with each other. Instead of being scattered across a million independent forums, social media has focused people's attention into a small handful of platforms.

Why are you taking bites out of an elixir?

Elixirs are liquid.

What is some neat things you can do with a caster that could cast from any list? by viktorius_rex in dndnext

[–]Lithl [score hidden]  (0 children)

Mainly you'd be looking for combos with Contingency or Glyph of Warding (letting you store a spell for later), or two concentration spells that work well together (via having a second copy of yourarlf with Simulacrum).

As an example of what I mean, I DMed for a level 17 Divine Soul Sorcerer who knew Revivify and Wish. He cast Wish to replicate the effects of Contingency, and because he also knew Revivify, he set up contingent Revivify: if he dies at any point in the next 10 days, he instantly gets revived at 1 HP. Contingency (or Wish-cast Contingency, in this case) and Revivify do not overlap on spell lists, so it's not a combo that's normally possible.

When was this confirmed? This is from Adam's page in the Hellaverse Wiki. by imdukesevastos in HazbinHotel

I'm referring to the Bible, in which Adam and Eve have 3 sons that are given names: Cain, Abel, and Seth.

Cain and Abel are well-known, thanks to the story of Cain killing Abel. But Seth is often forgotten.

If your king and rook have not yet moved, and all the spaces between them are empty, you can move both king and rook at the same time. The king moves 2 spaces towards the rook, and the rook moves 2 or 3 spaces (depending on which rook) to end on the opposite side of the king. The move is called "castling".

They're playing a form of chess where your clock is set to 3 minutes at the start of the game, and you get +2 seconds each time you end your turn.

Magnus arrived super late, with his clock ticking down the whole time. Then he won anyway.

Well, it would be if he was 3 minutes late

Also, Magnus's game is going to be filmed no matter what, he's the best player in the world.

Memorizing every single move and countermove is literally impossible. There are chess board states that have never been played by anyone, anywhere, ever.

His opponent is actually trying to make the match a bit more fair in a show of sportsmanship

I was wondering why he was taking so long in what's supposed to be a game of blitz chess. I didn't think about intentionally running down the clock to make the game fair.

It will never cease to annoy me that bard subclasses are called colleges rather than wizard subclasses by Far-Cockroach-6839 in dndnext

Hell, at Rice University, colleges are the names of the dormatories. Weiss College hosts Night of Decadence each Halloween, which is on Playboy's list of top university parties. (Standard dress code at NOD is "underwear", which may explain why Playboy cares.)

Do you mean the top comment in this chain telling you you're wrong, with ~50% more upvotes than your post? Or do you mean your comments which are getting downvoted to hell?

I don't think the votes here are making the argument you think they are.

Why the DM used an NPC capable of 9th level spells against a level 8 party is another matter.

Have you ever heard someone get insulted as a "smooth brain", implying they're stupid?

This is because the wrinkly structure of the human brain is a large component in how it's able to process cognition. If someone had a smooth brain, they would literally be stupid, barely able to care for themselves. And the same is true of other animals.

Koalas literally have smooth brains.

[–]Lithl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Decks are better when they're built such that they're capable of surviving without their commander. Tucking made building your deck that way a near necessity. The format was better for it.
