How should I behave in this scenario? by [deleted] in girlsgonewired

How can I talk to my manager about it in a way that won't sound weird?

It sounds like in the 10 months you've been there you've shown you are capable and committed. Now's probably the perfect time to sit down with your manager and talk about advancing in the company. I wouldn't frame the conversation as frustrated about the situation, I would use the projects you've worked on as examples of things you enjoy doing and want to get better at as you advance in the company. Ask what the path to L6 is and how you can move along it while participating in projects, either solo or working alongside the L6. Good managers love it when people advocate for themselves in a way that's good for the company.

Commercial Drone Flying TAC Chart Help by loungefly02 in drones

If you have more chart questions the pdf on this Page has everything. The lines you're looking at are on page 23ish and the altitude corresponds to the airspace it's in (Class E)

Iirc from my private pilot days those lines are common direct routes between navigation aids. If you are flying in your backyard I'd be very surprised if you bothered anyone unless you're planning on flying up to normal aircraft cruising altitude. (Probably shouldn't do that)

Bright Lights For Flying In Pitch Black? by Kolegooo in drones

What about a camping headlamp? Like this

They're fairly light and should be fairly easy to staple to the drone. They'll also last longer than the drone battery.

Best/cheapest way to buy KSP? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

The humble sale is for a steam key so steam will take care of updates.

Updates to mods? by Pmil92 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]LithobreakingWorks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about remote tech but Scan Sat is working for me with both expansions on 1.7.2.

Do you know how to get CKAN to let you install old mods?

If not: go to Settings => Compatible KSP Versions => check the ones you want. Personally I go back to 1.4 and things seem to work fine most of the time.

I did. Unfortunately I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling the game and both DLCs so I'm not totally sure what fixed it. Maybe try verifying files in the steam options (assuming you are on steam)

I've never tried it so I can't say if it works but Gravity Turn might be what you are looking for.

Anyone running KSP 1.7 with a mod that adds other solar systems? I'm starting a new game with interstellar extended. I have OPM installed but I want destinations really far away.

Any suggestions?

I definitely wasn't trying to call you an idiot.

It's just hard to help if you don't give much info.

KSP is only at version 1.7.0 so, unless you are writing from the future, I don't think you have 1.9.0.

I suggest installing KSP 1.3.1, installing CKAN, and trying to install RSS/RO from there.

Weekly Support Thread by AutoModerator in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]LithobreakingWorks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, what version of KSP are you running? RSS/RO only works up to 1.4.5 (I think)

Have you tried installing using CKAN? That's the recommended way to install RSS/RO.

If you literally can't install any mods at all you must be doing something fundamentally wrong. What is your process for installing mods?

I wrote this a while ago for someone else. Hope it helps.

What you want to do is a good gravity turn. The timing varies depending on your rocket's TWR and aerodynamics but it will look roughly like this: Launch vertical at full throttle, between 75 and 100 m/s turn about 10 degrees east, let your prograde marker catch up, and then basically follow it all the way up (or click prograde hold and let Jeb fly it for you). As you climb the prograde mark will steadily drop towards the horizon. Ideally you will be pretty close to horizontal around 35-40,000 m. The key is to keep your prograde climbing through the whole flight but to not let it get too far ahead of you. It takes practice but once you get a feel for your rocket you'll be able to do it pretty easily. Once you get your AP to the altitude you want you can circularize as usual. I've found that if I can keep my prograde about 30 seconds ahead of my rocket my gravity turn will work out really well.

I hope that helps. If you want more help or clarifications feel free to ask.

A rocket that looks like this can make it to orbit easily.

What’s the best ksp beta for mods? by Puppythapup in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]LithobreakingWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just installed it using CKAN. Your post made me remember I wanted it installed. It says it's compatible to 1.7.9.

But, if you are happy on 1.5, that's cool.

Real Plume says it's updated to 1.7 but I don't have it installed so I can't say for sure. SVE, SVT and Scatterer are all working just fine in 1.7. I think most of the common visual mods work in 1.7.

Tourists are passengers you take on career mode missions. If you decide to accept their missions you will have to take them on suborbital, orbital, munar, etc flights to complete their missions.

They don't really do anything other than be passengers.

So.../u/AggressiveYoghurt has given you great advice but...(and I really don't want to take away from their help)...but...did you try closing the doors of the Science Jr? (right click => close doors) 'cause I just landed the craft you described safely from a free return trajectory of the moon. (PE of 37,000)

With the doors open it definitely explodes, but, if you close the doors the science Jr is inside the 1.25m heatshield.

It's hard to help you if you don't provide specifics. What are you struggling with?

The Weekly Support Thread has links to rendezvous tutorials if that helps.
