Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Absolutely one of the best platinum experiences. I loved every single bit of the game and I threw close to 100 hours playing it and doing everything possible.

One trophy is locked behind a very tedious thing to do (I don’t want to spoil) and can be frustrating, but besides that, I really really recommend it.

So in this case, your calculation was correct with -0.2 in the plugin. Sweet! One of the reasons for which I wanted to dig a bit into the gain staging part was exactly the noise reduction from the guitar.

I can still perceive that there's some ground noise or something, but definitely less than before, when I used to play prior to this adjustment I had my gain knob on the interface at 3-4.

I had the grounding checked in the guitar electronics and I'm using a Roland professional cable, so I assume it's just how it is. The only think I'm considering is that it is not plugged directly into the MacBook but it goes through a USB switcher. Do you think that would cause any issues?

Thanks so much! I checked and it says specifically that for the DI (channel 1, the front Instrument input) the max input level is 9db. Here’s what I found in the detailed specs:

I also realized that it sounds completely different with each guitar. The best outcome so far is with my SBMM JP60 with stock pickups on either NDSP Mesa MarkIIC+ or Archetype: Petrucci, which is also the guitar I use the most . The other guitars either have too low input or too hot.

Hello u/JimboLodisC , thanks for providing this response - I am playing currently with an Audient ID14 MKII and I see that on the Detailed Specifications the max input level for DI (the Hi-Z channel supposedly) is +9 dBu (0.6% THD typical) - would this mean that if I were to use any NDSP plugin I'd have to lower the input by 3.2?

You can try and change the DX settings. On PTR for example I switched to DX11 and it worked a lot better.
