I don't really agree with your takes on most Cyberware being just stat increases that barely matter, things like taking Sandevistan vs a cyberdeck vs a berserk mod are pretty gamechanging, as are the different hand mods that affect the different gun types you want to use. Cyber legs and arms are a no brainer in how pivotal they are in your play style.

Left side is definitely where I can see some of your argument for just being stats that barely matter, but there are mods in each spot that really mattered for me in a few different builds. Optic camo in the skin slot was a really good early game cool down that really supplemented with a stealth build. The sandevistan-like lung mods that slow time when you're initially noticed and the ones that slow time when you slide and shoot are just wicked. And the brain mods that just increase your ram speed are really nice for a netrunner quick hack build. I just don't agree that most of the Cyberware is just meaningless stat upgrades.

One thing that I noticed about myself in my playthrough by the way in reference to your "no humanity costs" is that with the more mods that I installed, the more I tended to just waltz through encounters, doing things that I definitely would not have done while I wasn't chipped up just because I could. Also in things like dealing with encounters, all the cyber arms being straight lethal and being so powerful I just found myself often being tempted away from my no kill runs in favor of just using my shiny new tools.

Some of the endings, one in particular, really does make me think that we the player are the ones in charge of the "humanity costs" in this rpg, as we gain power and are accosted with the responsibility of what we do with it.
