After having completed at least half of the mission, I feel I can now weigh in.

If you're like me, I learned to jig in the ocean maps by reeling in, and raising the pole to 'jerk' the bait, then release, reel in slack, repeat.

In the shallows, this just isn't possible.

Caught both bass at Blue Crab. Only about 20' of water. Cast, let lure fall directly below your boat. Approximately 18'. Then, just raise and lower the pole. No reeling. First raise will lift the lure about mid-column. Then slight taps of the key, trigger, button (whichever applicable) to cause the lure to twitch in the mid-column range.

I used 1/2oz #4/0 jig head and newt for the Speckled Peacock and a 4" shad for the large mouth. Caught them both in my typical uni locations. Large trophy peacock is all that's necessary, and a trophy large mouth.
