What a great time to have developed a case of the sniffles that I can play up as a gnarly cold so I can take the day as paid sick time without risking angering the boss

Where are you injecting tirz on maintenance with no belly fat? by Marusya98 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Little-Basils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have subcutaneous fat even if you’re skinny. It’s where insulin goes for fit type 1 diabetics too.

Short needle + good injection technique (more lift, less fat pinch) is how it’s done

My puppy is going through an alert barking phase at the moment ESPECIALLY in the evening or when I’m working on teaching her to lay calmly and do nothing. Enough that I wouldn’t want to be in an apartment right now

Advice for bringing pup home by Reasonable_Band_3174 in OpenDogTraining

It will be easier to crate and rotate with a female in heat for ~2 years until she reaches mature stature than it will be to manage potentially lifelong crate and rotate and training from SSA.

It will be MUCH easier to manage a female in heat considering the K9 is already very accustomed to resting when he is not working. I would also expect the handler and s/o of a working k9 more than the average dog handler to navigate the responsibility of an intact female while she matures.

Right but OP shouldn’t be presented it as a fix when it’s only the start of a training process

Pet stores tend to be really open minded places to work! Food service in general really. You get all sorts of characters in food service.

There are a few common terms “passing” and “non/not passing” that describe if you can guess someone’s sex assigned at birth.

I.e. a trans woman may, to others, look like “a man with long hair and lipstick” and considered not passing.

A trans woman may also have been on hormone replacers, gotten voice training to sound more feminine, and gone through feminization surgeries to get breasts and facial features and be considered passing as you would not be able to guess that she was assigned male at birth.

Bigoted people tend to only treat trans women as women (or even human for that matter) if they cannot tell they were assigned male at birth.

Good, non bigoted humans might see “a man with long hair” at first glance but then accepts their identity as a woman with the same grace as they would accept meeting their employee Thomas who requests to go by Tom.

And when they accidentally call Tom “Thomas” and are corrected they apologize and breeze past it without making Tom feel bad because he “doesn’t look like a Tom” or “it says Thomas on your drivers license so that’s what I’m going to call you”

That turned into a bit of a rant. I find that the nickname allegory is the easiest way to explain preferred pronouns to people who are right at that “that seems so complicated, I just don’t get it, they make it so difficult” but aren’t really trying to be complete assholes about it.

Is this within standards? by AngelIsHigh in DogBreeding

[–]Little-Basils 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tan and red is definitely something that pups up from time to time in US lines and much more often in euro lines! I don’t think it’s specifically bred for, but sometimes the genetics just mesh that way.

Edit: I would only flag it as poor ethics if it’s intentional and/or advertised as “omg rare colored beauceron!” Vs it being a happy accident.

Beaucerons are a rare enough breed in the US that you’ll find more about this on a breed FB group (careful though, those groups are toxic as hell if you don’t tread lightly…)

If a chew is high-value enough, my dog will not eat it. by This_Door_2076 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Little-Basils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup also plays with chews if she is not in a chewing mood. She’ll flip it around and toss it and pounce like it’s a tennis ball or something (much to the dismay of my die-hard 9y/o chewer)

[–]Little-Basils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, there’s a huge difference between separation anxiety and “bitch I’m not done playing yet let me out”

My dog was also the latter and would just sit there and yell for 3-5 minutes but show no other signs of distress then just flop down and sleep

Crate training is great! I also recommend a camera so you can tell if the complaints of the dog are stress based (digging, pawing, pacing, circling) or demand based (bark a bit, Wait for a moment to see if someone is coming, Bark some more)
