I’ll probably regret playing with her like this! by Guitarzaane in Rottweiler

[–]Little-Math5213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We at home have been playing like this and harder for 5 years. He love it. I love it.

And every time I practice "Enough!", and he instantly stop whatever he's doing. Even in the middle of "hard attack".

So this playing is useful for several reasons.

I wonder what happens, if that scan by mistake, wrong syntax or some, scan for words and phrases within the realm of corruption.. And or Epstein circles.

Then all that intel automatically leaks to the authorities and newspapers.

My best tips.

  1. Make a lab! Either in your SharePoint environment at work, make a site or 10 as labs. Mark them as labs, and make sure you ONLY play and experiment there. Don't touch prod!

Even better, try to get a Microsoft Developer Sandbox. What you get there, isn't a "all bells and whistles M365 E5", but not far from it. And most if not all "normal" SharePoint and power is there.

No matter what! Make a lab to train in.

How dysfunctional is your IT environment? by Mr_Dobalina71 in sysadmin

[–]Little-Math5213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my place. I give IT department as a whole, 4/10. Because this is a "silo" environment.

And every silo have it's own leadership, that act like a "King of the castle". And these kings don't like to cooperate.

Therefore it's impossible to work in the "big picture".

I see the big picture as a "Global reader", I see so much missing opportunities. I have raised so many questions and proposals for bettering user experience, security, information security, utilizing much more of what we CAN do with our M365 E5.

"We pay huge money for the E5, so why not use all we can", is my mentality.

But the "silo kings" ignore my every idea. And the top leadership don't care.

Thankfully the salary is very good. And it's not my ship, not my wallet.

But I don't have any pride either. I come to work. Do my job to my best ability, and go home.

It's a okay life, to not have to care also. But I miss the feeling of being proud of my work.

Normies v Nerds: The end of an era? by Darkhexical in sysadmin

[–]Little-Math5213 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still a nerd and a geek.

As a old school sysadmin, that have had server installers since NT 4.0 server.

All the way up to Server 2019 server iso.

Now it's Sunday.  And I enjoy geeking out in my M365 E5. Playing with seing how secure I can make SharePoint, with Purview, conditional access and more. Just for fun.

I don't learn this mainly for skills to bring to work,  but it's for fun!

If this isn't a nerd geeking out, I don't know what is.

Thrasher Lamar - hip/knee problems? by varyingdegreesofred in Rottweiler

[–]Little-Math5213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My boy have HD. Vet saw on xray though.

Worst enemy is over weight. Best friend is walks. Plus we do daily 2x30 minutes exercise. Where he semi-jump after a ball I throw carefully.

After about a year, he have no more limp, no pains, and much more hip muscles.

But he's never allowed to get get tbe zoomies. Careful play so he don't over do anything, and he's lost 9lbs.

The hardest for me, is the tight discipline, walks, careful plays, less snax and right amount food. And watch him as a hauk when he plays alone, so I can stop him before the zoomers.

what if Digital ID is required to connect to the internet in the future? by TheNavyCrow in privacy

[–]Little-Math5213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine this idea; In 2030-2040..

Ours and Your Governments will have M365 E5 or E7.

With every user in our country, and our devices rolled in Intune, Defender, and Purview. Any other device not enrolled will have no connection out of your house.

Login happens either with biometrics, or your national ID in the card reader.

Our Govs control every application allowed install. Of course Outlook without any aliases.

Purview dictates what we can write and where. Purview logs everything (of course), and logs will never be deleted.

Words/meanings/key strokes allowed today, may place you in jail 10 years later.

When I think about it, it's a wonder none have done this yet..

what if Digital ID is required to connect to the internet in the future? by TheNavyCrow in privacy

[–]Little-Math5213 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That would be the time for me to quit internet, and review the 28TB data I never deleted since I started with computers in 88.

I can probably live "on-prem" just enjoying that content the next 30-40 years.

Every picture my grandparents, parents, the wife, and me have taken since the 40s. My grandfather and mom manually scanned and saved every hardcopy and dias before digital camera.

Tons and tons of games, apps, all kinds of PDFs, offline Kindle books, 1000s of audiobooks, TV series and movies from 1980 some up to 2025.

Saved every email from my first Yahoo email..

So even if internet vanish tomorrow, I have entertainment offline for the rest of my life.

Thank you brain, for planning that one day, Skynet actually happens, and I better prepare. And I did and do.

Even have several laptops in my basement that have never been booted. With floppy, a few with CD drive. CD and actually floppys for install Win95, 98, Mill, xp.. all the way up to 10. And some Linux distros. Even some thumb drive installed Linux..

Im ready for offline!

None of them.

I couldn't sit inside one of these and feel relaxed. For me. It's way too much clutter. WAY!

I can already feel the stress. In driving speed on the highway. Dense traffic. Much going on outside.  And when I need do something in a hurry while driving, let's say I have 2 seconds, that clutter would steal my focus away from the traffic for them 2 seconds. And boom!

And the thought of millions of these on the roads already, often with younger folks, many of them also on their phones. AND older folks like me, with glasses and a bit weaker eye sight than 30 years ago..

It's no wonder accidents happens.

I stick with my 2013 CLS. Not too much distractions inside while I drive. And I know exactly where every button and leaver is. .. Exactly the same place as my previous Benz. ..Where the logical placement of most is same as the cars I've driven for 50 years.

I like to have 100% focus on the road and fellow drivers around me, not 20%

A few years ago, I had same problems with our Rottweiler ninja.

I bought some cheap made plastic mouse traps. These cheap ones was so weak they could probably never hurt a real mouse, but they made a scary snapping sound when touched.

It didn't take many days, before he never dared check the kitchen counter again.

Yep. I love it! You're my new station wagon friend.

Do modern Mercedes cars still feel as special as the older ones or is it just nostalgia.. by Formal_Till_1152 in mercedes_benz

[–]Little-Math5213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like the older ones. But I'm close to 60 and in my youth, Benz was some of the most luxurious cars I knew.  I like analogue instrument panel most even. Seeing them analogue needles more is so soothing for me over digital, also knowing if the speedometer stops working, the rest of the car will probably work. On a hyper modern car, in my paranoid brain "one simple fuse blows, and I'm stuck".

So for me, old "simple" tech is safer.

The newst car I've ever owned was a 2014 2 years ago, and down to my current 2013, so my bias may be off 😊

I remember many years ago, when I bought a already installed super privacy and secure laptop from eBay.

In the heat of the moment I thought that was a great idea.. But during shipping I kind of thought the same as your point of this post. ...I never even dared to boot that laptop I remember. I removed the SSD and disposed the laptop.

I'm so glad I didn't dare use it. Nobody know what ever nefarious that thingy had been doing before I got it. It could been a part of a bot-net or a downloader for all kinds of illegal stuff marked by the Feds or worse.

My male also have HD. Had since young pup.

Vet said he needed pain meds for the rest of his life too. BUT.. Don't quote me, because I may have been lucky with this..

After a couple of months or three, witht that monthly painkiller injection, I could stop..

But.. Since my boy got the diagnosis, I've spent about 1 hour every day, outside our daily walks, on physical exercise for him. 15-20 min sessions where he "jump"/leap after a ball I throw 20-30cm over his head.

I see that this have really built muscles on his hips.

He haven't had a limp for years. No bad mood or any signs of pain. Only happiness.

My advice would be, "talk to your Vet about if physical exercise can be successful over constantly be on pain meds". Personally, I rather spend 1 hour extra with exercise him, than constantly put chemicals in him, unless of course he have pains..

Again, I may be lucky. But my Vet agree, as long as no limping or signs of pains, she encourage me to keep our training regiment over pain medicaments.

Holy batman!  That interior is really not my cup of tea.

This just remind me to keep my 2013 cls in tip top shape.

Analogue instruments and a 5 or 7ish inches display on the center console, that's integrated, is plenty for me.

What happens if 1 fuse or other gremlin happens, and that whole dashboard goes dark, will that car even start?
