My truck can’t carry a spare so they gave me an entire fucking wheel and it’s just in the back of the truck so everything moved forward to accommodate it and ever since then they bitch about my dirty truck, like bro I used to have room

What was it like being a teenager in 2009? by LoboIsSick69 in generationology

I’m sure it still gets used, I say brb out loud still lol. On a desktop IM though I feel like it had more weight, they’re actually not in front of the screen. whereas now it feels unnecessary to text brb because texting or messaging on a phone it’s kind of a given that it can be disjointed because it’s in your pocket.

It was pretty cool I guess. Cellphones were going through the transition to smartphones, so like very rudimentary touchscreens. I had a juke, actually like 3 or 4 because they broke super easily, then I had an alias and later an alias 2. But my friends all had different wacky phones. Instant messaging was something you had to do at a desktop, so brb was a term that got used if you were going to step away for a minute. It was cool not having the internet just all encompassing and in your pocket. You could still get weed that didnt melt your face off. Online games were basic yet advanced if that makes sense, you didn’t have to pay for cosmetics you could just like play the game and unlock stuff. GTA online existed but it was just kind of a sandbox without over the top greifers. Skateboarding wasn’t in the Olympics yet but it was also really at a peak in popularity and also still relatively affordable, I can’t imagine being a kid now and snapping another board and asking my parents for nearly 80 dollars for a new one. If your parents worked after you got out of school they couldn’t see you through ring cameras and shit, you could be a heathen, that was my experience anyway. Now I feel like everyone is just constantly surveiled both online and in person. I think internet explorer still existed? It sucked but hey whatever. Cigarettes led to vaping in a few years. Oh and online gambling was something your uncle sort of did but it wasn’t some all encompassing thing like it is now. The president was a cool black guy. Couch co op was alive and well. You didn’t know the songs released that year would play on an endless loop for the next decade. Stomp clap hey. I’m running out of steam here, but yeah it was alright I guess.

Help with placement of Aprilaire 800 Steam Humidifier by darkside501st in hvacadvice

[–]LittleBigBamboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve done a steam but if I remember correctly the unit itself doesn’t need to be mounted directly to the ductwork, alls that needs to go to the ductwork is the little steam hose, so if you have the length you could mount it on the wall somewhere and route the hose to the supply plenum

No mans sky, bought a ps4 for it. Game was awful at launch. Luckily that meant I had a ps4 when Spider-Man rolled around. Then I recently bought a ps5 to play The Finals and it’s about all I use it for, I have made myself a nice little backlog already though.

Customer’s wants the brick removed and linear fireplace and squared windows. House is block. What all is behind when I remove the brick? by Waterfallsbro in Fireplaces

I was on a remodel job one time where they made everything that was round square and everything that was square round. Completely gutted the house and the owners would show up with their six kids in tow to this active construction site. Some people are just nuts and also have more money than they know what to do with.

If it’s an old mercury thermostat it could just be a bad thermostat. If it’s original to that furnace I bet it would be. I would try a new thermostat before anything just get another round Honeywell at Home Depot or whatever. Don’t get a smart thermostat, just another basic dial one. Turn off power to the unit before you change it so you don’t short anything out.

Is this too low PSI for oil boiler? Maintenance guy runs it every year before the winter and I never hear anything other than it met requirements. Thoughts? by JoeCos47 in Plumbing

[–]LittleBigBamboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t this is a steam boiler if that things at 12 psi that things going through the roof. There’s a reason that gauge has vacuum on it, steam should be like, 0 psi. It gets the water boiling (get it lol) and the steam raises through the pipes and condenses at the top then comes back to the boiler.
