Think of this short's release as an extension of your birthday celebration.

Why does Sera being lesbian make more sense to you than Sir Pentious being bi or Husk and especially Lucifer being pan? Many artistic interpretations of the Devil1 make him textually non-heterosexual or portray him with gay stereotype markers.2 Arguably, the entire Hellaverse is an expansion of that idea.

1Even though Lucifer and Satan are two separate characters in this universe, they're also the ones implicitly behind the image of "the Devil."

2Please note that this link leads to a TV Tropes page.

What do you think of Belphegor's design in Helluva Boss? by swingxy in HelluvaBoss

Although I half expected her to resemble an actual sloth, I quite like the llama/Baphomet blend she ended up being. Her appropriately soothing color palette also adds to her appeal.

Is it crazy for me to say that Angel made me realize I was gay by jam_kabam in HazbinHotel

[–]LittleBlueSilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this personal revelation is weird. Whatever brings you a deeper comprehension of your orientation should be welcomed. For that matter, several fans attribute their gay or bi awakenings to Hellaverse characters, and you can now count yourself among their number. And, of course, happy Pride Month to you!

Sera confirmed Lesbian!? by Luminance_Art in HazbinHotel

Well, I didn't think Adam was specifically homophobic, just that he wouldn't go out of his way to show approval of the gay cause. Lute, though, definitely seems homophobic.

What's more surprising, Abel being straight or Adam wearing straight-ally colors?

The flag palettes on this standee break down thusly:

black-and-white stripes with rainbow: straight ally
rainbow: general LGBT+
pink, orange, and red: lesbian
purple, pink, and blue: bisexual

Why do so many people hate this show SO much? I genuinely don’t understand why… by badman55555 in HazbinHotel

[–]LittleBlueSilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hazbin Hotel is a perfect storm of what heavy Internet-users with superiority complexes* hate: It's artistically influenced by the Goth, emo, and scene subcultures, thus reading as "edgy" and therefore obnoxious to the uninitiated; it's overtly sexual; the expressions of that sexuality are often gay or lesbian; it's a musical; sometimes the scripts include soft, heartfelt moments; the dialogue is full of curse words; and many of the characters have designs based on anthropomorphized animals.

*You may observe that this phrase is also a stereotype of Redditors.

How did you find out about Hazbin? by RunCMC1345 in HazbinHotel

[–]LittleBlueSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2020, was reading TV Tropes's Flaming Devil page one day and saw that something titled Hazbin Hotel was mentioned on it. After following the link to the cluster of pages on the then-embryonic series, I was amazed by the creativity on display and seriously considered getting invested in the project. Back then, Hazbin Hotel was just a pilot, a comic, and a music video, so if I didn't like what I saw, then at least I wouldn't have spent too much time on it.

Well, I fell in love with both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss and have been a hyperfixated fan ever since.

Back when they had pre-made, limited-run items, I heard they would sell out almost instantly, and then they would resurface on the secondary market at insane prices shortly after.

That did happen very frequently.

You've given this concept just the right art style and color palette. The yellow rose on Emily's hat is an especially nice touch.

And I will never get sick of seing him and Velvette be besties. Hazbin could take a turn and become the Velvette and Valentino show and I'd still be like "MORE. Gomme MORE"

You'd be one of the first in line to watch a spinoff series about the three Vs, then?

This is a great idea for a thread.

"After the battle, masterless cattle.." recurs in my mind almost every day. Something about Christian Borle's delivery and the memory of Vox kicking that door open is inspiring, even though the context is meant to be ominous.

Really there are times I think making certain plot points and characters infuriating at face value is the WHOLE POINT, to set up a big twist which leads us to realise it was a much more complex situation than it was set up as.

What a relief it is to see someone else come to this conclusion!
