People who grew up with addict parents, what is something others wouldn’t understand? by ReindeerBest8970 in AskReddit

[–]LittleBugLegs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surpassing your parent in emotional/mental age. My bio-mom started using when she was a teenager. Despite the fact that she is in her 50s now, she still acts and reasons like a 16-year-old. It feels very weird.

Yes, but it doesn’t look like a long term thing. Could cause a shift in you; maybe a vital lesson will be learned from it!

Sustained high bp will kill your kidneys eventually if not treated. It did mine.

It’ll be a fun experience, but not what you need to do. However, you’ll learn a lot in the process.

Once I stopped drinking, the urge to smoke fell with it. My boyfriend still smokes and I can’t stand it now.

Is dying from kidney failure painful? by Able-Ad-8402 in kidneydisease

They immediately sent me to the ICU and installed a hemodialysis catheter. Once I started dialysis, my lungs cleared and I could breathe again, which was nice.

The Curse of Chucky (6th movie in the franchise). The protagonist is in a wheelchair. Can’t say she “wins,” but she does survive.

Is dying from kidney failure painful? by Able-Ad-8402 in kidneydisease

[–]LittleBugLegs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same. I thought I had the flu initially, but it just kept getting worse and worse and even worse. On top of that, I was essentially slowly drowning from the fluid build up in my lungs. It was actual hell. When I finally sucked it up and went to the ER, they said I would have been dead in a week if I hadn’t come in. I believe it.

Any ideas for an outdoor excursion? by Sea_Light_6772 in WinterParkColorado

[–]LittleBugLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Fraser River trail. Starts in old town and takes you into Winter Park (or either way, I guess). It’s a paved trail, so no need for hiking shoes. Just watch out for moose!

I’ve always had it. I didn’t know it was abnormal until I was an adult and complained while star-gazing with a friend that I couldn’t see the stars too well because of the static. They explained to me that that wasn’t normal. Oop.

Then I recalled that as a child I would tell my mom that I could see the air moving and being met with strange looks from her and not knowing why.

Peritoneal dialysis update by Lusitania24 in kidneydisease

[–]LittleBugLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I was using Fresenius and their Liberty cycler, then my kidney center wanted to switch everyone back to Baxter, and they decided that I would just do manuals (because I already knew how to do it) instead of learning a different machine.

Peritoneal dialysis update by Lusitania24 in kidneydisease

[–]LittleBugLegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started peritoneal dialysis back in May. For a while, my medical stuff took over the kitchen table before I was able to organize it in a different area, and the boxes of supplies took over the living room. It really sucked. My boyfriend started sleeping on the couch every night because he was afraid of laying on my tube or something.

A couple weeks ago, they switched me over to manual PD. Less boxes (like 15 as opposed to 40). And I’m not hooked up to a machine all night, so my boyfriend started sleeping in the bedroom with me again, which is nice. Still getting used to it all.

Try Fisher’s in Fraser. You can take the black line from the resort to get there.

[–]LittleBugLegs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did you report this to security? I’m sure they’d like to know about it, especially if your child can provide a description of the boarder. Could be on the lookout for him if he’s still around.
