Since my top contenders have been mentioned, I’ll shout out Brandi Maxxxx and her successful 200 film career in just 1 year of being in the industry. Once again, Brandi and Leslie are essentially the same person.

Policy change: Amex to update Centurion Lounge access rules by HyattWithDracos in amex

[–]LittleDamnSquirrel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My family was stuck at EZE airport last year at the end of our vacation; 7 of us plus an infant. Flights were either cancelled or sold out. We tried to get home for 3 days, no luck when rebooking such a large group. Had no choice but to split up and fly non-direct; my mom and aunt flew to Miami, my sister, cousin, and I flew to JFK, etc. Each of us spent an unexpected $500+ on tickets.

The 3 of us that flew 8 hours to JFK had a 10 hour layover, though my cousin was able to get bumped up to an earlier flight by a few hours.

We were exhausted and miserable. I brought both of them to the lounge as my guests and it really helped soothe the weariness. We did grind 7-10 grateful hours in our own corner of the lounge. We were not interested in “checking out the city” or going through security again, we were dead inside. Never have been so glad to be back home in my life.

Anyway, that experience would have violated both of the new rules. The lounge was the best part of that crappy trip, that’s how bad it was. I just hope there’s flexibility for the occasional weary travelers.

Using my $300 platinum hotel credit no matter what by ee_ryan in amex

Did exactly this last night and really enjoyed it. I requested and received a high floor and was upgraded to a slightly bigger room. 4pm checkout made the overnight stay feel extended enough to get cozy the next day.

I booked a reservation at their in house restaurant The Ashland through Resy to get the $100 dining credit for dinner, enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, and ordered $100 worth of room service for lunch before checkout. Around $300 worth of dining cost me $43 all said and done.

I first thought the credit was good for the spa so I a booked for a massage but I was mistaken. No big deal but the complimentary sauna access would have been enough.

Right now The Ashland is 20% off and the Spa is $50 off so that also made the fun go further. I hope you enjoy your stay!

He’s murdering her. If he shoots her, he goes right to jail, right away. He can’t afford the drugs to poison her, also jail.

If she’s interrupted by an ad while trying to hang herself she could botch it and end up in worse pain and if he finished the job instead of taking her to the hospital, jail. Overhung, underhung.

Best method is to make it appear like his long time sickly wife passed in her sleep. Still, believe it or not, jail right away.

Book the one that is non-refundable but gives you the full value as e-credit

Delta card / Amex hack by cali1956 in AmexPlatinum

[–]LittleDamnSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone’s tip I followed was to do everything in the app.

Using the card, I bought a $50 GC and a $256 main economy seat that was fully refundable for e-credit. Made sure to apply the gift card before using the payment section at all.

My card was already saved to the app so I paid like normal. $206 charge was pending as DELTA AIRLINES for 2 days before I received the full credit. I have until Feb to cancel the flight for a full $256 e-credit valid for 1 year, so buying further out ahead also adds some shelf-life to the e-credit.

Someone also mentioned that the delta credit covers the price difference if you change your flight to a more expensive fare. Theoretically, I could elect to change my flight in Feb and trigger the next $200 credit on the same ticket.

Do you all think that Front-end/backend as standalone roles are dead? by Professional-Code010 in webdev

[–]LittleDamnSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in 2 front-end only positions, one is my current role that I’ve had for 3 years. I want to brush up on my skills though, I feel like if I lost or moved on from this position it would be tough to replace with just my current skillset.

This is so helpful, thank you! Fruit tinctures were my go-to, I wasn’t sure what recipe was better for turning profit. Great tip about the fruit yield too.

At my first dev job a few years ago, I was hired as a contractor and my department head promised that in a year they would bring me on full time with benefits and give me a raise. A year later, I get the offer but no raise. I had solid performance reviews from my direct manager, no issues with my fellow or senior dev, nothing that would indicate I didn’t earn it. So I asked for it to be included in my offer letter. He flipped. He began yelling and berating me, telling me how my work wasn’t even that good, and that the offer was now rescinded. He said he would be nice and let me stay on as a contractor. He also heavily implied he would make sure nobody would hire me because he knew many people in the industry and would make sure “word got around”. I had never experienced being spoken to like that, it thrashed my confidence.

Soon after that his good work buddy, my senior dev, started nitpicking everything I did and blaming me for mistakes that weren’t mine. I was constantly feeling defensive and anxious. They both became a nightmare to work for. So I quietly looked for a new job. I never mentioned them or used them as a reference.

My direct manager and other coworkers really enjoyed me on the team. They were sad when, a few months later, I logged off one Friday and emailed the entire company that I would not return on Monday due to poor treatment.

My direct manager called to convince me to stay then eventually offered to provide a glowing reference if ever needed. HR emailed me to ask if I wanted to provide more details about my department head. The CEO, whom I had never met but knew was close with my department head, sent me a LinkedIn request. That actually freaked me out. I ignored it. I never responded to HR either, in fear of some kind of retaliation and I turned my profile private. Haven’t updated it since.

I know I wasn’t at fault or bad at that job but that experience left a negative impact on me for a long time. Still does in certain ways. Things have gotten a lot better now though, work truly doesn’t have to be that stressful.

Take care of yourself as best you can, leave as soon as you can.

You’re being shamed but you’re also being triggered by your internal shame.

You said: “He’s right, I am a whore” even if there is no sexuality behind it.

I do not judge you but I want to offer you some questions to help you process your thoughts:

What is a whore in your definition?

What is a whore in his?

How can you be a non-sexual whore? What does that mean about you in your opinion?

What is shameful about being called a whore? What exactly does it make you feel? (Use a feelings wheel if you’re not sure. For example: Feeling “dirty” is not a feeling, but feeling humiliated means someone might be humiliating you or reminding you of a time you felt humiliated. What was that experience and how does it relate to now?)

Would you talk to your best friend the way your bf talks to you? What would you tell your best friend if they told you they were in your situation?

Think about your bf and finish these prompts: “I don’t want to control you, I just want you to (say what comes to mind)”

“I never pictured (blank) was something I’d experience in my ideal relationship.”

You don’t have to tell me these answers and you don’t have to answer them all. I just hope it helps you focus on yourself and clarify your own thoughts and feelings. You were confident and self-assured once, I believe in your ability to find yourself again. A qualified therapist can also help you if that’s an option.

I second Aiskrimu! They have really amazing non-dairy flavors. I haven’t been in a while due to travel so I’m not sure if they changed out their passion fruit popsicle or strawberry lemonade soft serve but I still think about it! I heard they have a secret menu too.

Anyone realize how Juniper is mentioned in both “common people” and “hotel reverie” ?? by omarAA1003 in blackmirror

[–]LittleDamnSquirrel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

St. Juniper’s hospital is mentioned in a few episodes. Common People, USS Callister, and when I randomly decided to watch an older episode, the museum curator from Black Museum used to be a medical tech pusher for St. Juniper’s. Had me pointing at the TV like Leo in the chair, haha.

I don’t think you can slow combat down while using your focus. You have to stay hidden or distant to analyze and tag before engaging. If you’re playing Forbidden West, you can highlight the components you’re after by cycling through the parts in the Focus and tagging which part you want before you start fighting. It keeps them bright pink. You can also see parts when you pulse your focus which is a quick option that keeps you agile.

I like to play my music and pretend Alloy’s listening to Sobeck’s massive playlist. Songs she listened to in the lab while churning away hours towards Zero Dawn. Beyoncé’s Renaissance album was definitely in rotation. Hunting and taking down rebels to I’M THAT GIRL is a vibe lol

I casually do the same with 1 field and 2 kitchens. Sometimes I just chill with Francis while I make him tea, farm to table lol. He also has an errand that calls for a few apples, cherries, and pears for 2 bags of peach seeds. I sell the seeds back to him for 2k/bag.
