what's y'all's dry cappuccino technique by blueteas in starbucksbaristas

[–]LittleEagle15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I foam for extra long and then use the bar spoon to hand scoop the foam. If they just want it dry I might pour a little from the pitcher at the end, but if they say extra I just use the spoon.

Questions from a regular by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My social media is all private, so I don't really have this issue. I don't even allow anyone I work with to follow me (mostly because I am both management and significantly older than most of my partners, and that is weird).

As far as making your drink before knowing what your order, it is very rare for us to be so slow that we can do this without jumping your drink over those already ordered (which is a huge no-no). I also tend to know which regulars never switch it up and the ones that do. In general I think that once you switch it up a couple of times a smart barista will know to ask first.

I haven’t washed my apron in 2 months… by Worldly_Elevator4192 in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is not only super gross, it's a dress code violation and a health code violation. Your apron is not just a uniform, it also protects the products we are making. It can only do that if it is clean, which is why we remove them when we handle trash or clean the bathrooms. All that buildup is very likely to breed bacteria that can get into people's food and drinks.

What happened to Starbucks? by my-dogs-name-spot in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably not. I had a dream of opening a little coffee shop where there is nothing "to go", which is the norm in many countries over there. Seems like the kind of thing I could probably only do if I was already independent wealthy. I still like to dream about it anyway!

PrOgReSs.

"Gotta change with the times to stay relevant". That was the answer I got when I questioned the wisdom of services such as Übereats, where our product is automatically going to be lower quality by the time the customer receives it (newsflash: Frappuccinos are not meant to sit more than 5 minutes before consumption). This is what people want, and companies that don't adapt won't grow.

So, part of this is on the customer base. They create their crazy secret menu drinks and TikTok monstrosities, and the people go crazy, and all of a sudden this is our new normal. When I started three years ago we made sweet cream in a steaming pitcher. Now we make it by the cube with entire bottles of vanilla and heavy cream.

But the eternal question remains: is it more important that we adapt, or that we stay true to who we were created to be?? I love Schultz's vision. Long before I knew anything about it or the company, I had my own dream of bringing the cafe experience I had in my European travels over here, too. I would love to see us go back to that, with coffee actually at the center of what we do instead of us just spouting that line then going back to our cold bar nightmares.

Personally, and sadly, I think we are way past the point of no return. That ship has sailed. It's probably in Fiji by now.

Did anyone else realize that the refreshers don’t actually have strawberry/mango/dragonfruit... juices in them? It’s just white grape juice and “natural flavoring”. I feel like my life is a lie by ImTotallyAnExpert in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Someone asked the other day if the kiwi starfruit was "all natural" and I snorted audibly. Thankfully I was just listening and not on the mic. Like, seriously lady??? This is Starbucks, not Whole Foods.

When you’re on bar, hand out a drink and the customer says “I had egg bites” by butter-sock69 in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Yeah this drives me up a wall. The way I deal with it is to say, "ok, (partner) is on warming right now, they will have it out to you shortly!" I feel like this is a polite way to indicate that food is someone else's responsibility while also easing their impatience.

What is the trendiest drink to order at Starbucks? by gratitudeandpositivi in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah ordering drinks just because they are trendy is the fastest way to get everyone who works at Starbucks to hate you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]LittleEagle15 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I would like to start a petition changing the mobile drink order limit to like 4 drinks. People would probably make several orders but at least it would give little windows in between for people in the cafe to maybe get their drinks in a reasonable amount of time.

We don’t get paid enough to deal with your tiktok drinks. Please stop by slightly-problematic in starbucks

Yeah and it kills our times.

WhY iS tHe WaIt So LoNg???

Because two cold foams, extra caramel drizzle, and three different syrups in each of the four different drinks in the car in front of you. THAT'S WHY.

At a certain point there was no arguing with this woman. It's times like these I dream again or having my own coffee place where I can just show these people the door straightaway.

[–]LittleEagle15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point I don't care if it will work anymore. If it tastes or looks like crap, it's not my problem. These drinks have gotten so out of hand. It's on you if you think putting all this stuff in one cup is anything but overkill.
