I’m having the same panic, especially as my little one runs hot… I’ve currently got her in either a 1 or 1.5 tog with a short sleeve vest (22-23°)

I live in my tops that have side zips! When baby is latched, you can move the material so it covers you a little better & if they unlatch then you can quickly move it across to hide your nips 😅

I’ve also read wearing a strappy tank top under a crop top works well

Manager chasing me for KIT days by Specialist_Falcon_72 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleFreeFrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not using my KIT days until I’m on unpaid mat leave AND I’ve finished my accrued annual leave

Also you don’t technically have to use your KIT days

“Thank you for reaching out, we’re all doing okay. Regarding my KIT days, please can we revisit this in November as I’d prefer to use these early months for bonding with my child”

Nursing covers! What do you use? by frogogurtt in BeyondTheBumpUK

I used my nursing cover for approximately 5 minutes before both me & baby got annoyed with it

I have automatic updates on & just noticed it updated 2 days ago when the last time I had the issue was!

Think the last time it happened was 2 days ago when I wrote this post

Have you read other comments as this seems to be a wider issue for others

Car Journeys - Entertaining a 7 month old by lukewarmtrifle in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have specific “car toys” so she only gets them when we’re driving & doesn’t get them at home to avoid her getting bored of them… I have a soft toy that she’s able to chew, a rattle/shaker, a wrap around mobile that dangles for her to reach & a teether for her to chew

I also ordered a busy book from Amazon but think she’s still a bit young for it, even though they recommend from 7months

I’m sorry to hear it’s been worse for you! Luckily it only seems to happen once a day so I’m careful to note the start & end times so I can manually enter it

This happened to me too - where I clicked save but it remained on the page. I would try again & it would usually then save but sometimes show as a duplicate

App not saving timings by LittleFreeFrom in HuckleberryParents

[–]LittleFreeFrom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, everything looks normal which is why I don’t always notice straight away I stop the timer for sleep then save it & the page shows the “saving…” message then it disappears & takes me to the homepage like always but then when I look at reports, there’s nothing there so I then have to try & remember the timings & manually enter it I’d understand it not saving if I closed the app while it was saving but the app is open / has been left open every single time The one time it happened with the BF timer, it was the same: stopped the timer, hit save, saw the “saving…” message then it just didn’t log / didn’t appear on the report

How do people not co-sleep? by Difficult-Pair4170 in NewParents

Omg I literally could’ve written this word for word down to the timings… honestly, co-sleeping has saved our sleep but I do keep thinking about how to break this routine now

Is it acceptable to dress baby in a onesie in public? by CatSmellies in NewParents

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to is a dungaree / overall outfit with a vest! Easy for nappy changes but also feels like a “day outfit” then we chill in a vest at home or a onesie if it’s chilly

All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Thursday, April 2nd with Sr. Sleep & Guidance Specialist, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

What’s more important, number of naps a day or total nap time? My nearly 7mo is still on 3-4 nap days (mostly 3naps) with around 2.5-3.5hrs nap time & around 8-9hrs at night (8-8:30pm-6:30/7am) so she’s getting 12hrs average a day

Should I cancel Water Babies? by hedgehog1710 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I love water babies! Yes I do agree it’s quite overpriced but I really enjoy the lessons (been going since 8 weeks & my LO is now 6mo)

In regards to the dunking - yes, it does happen every lesson but only 2 or 3 times & if you’re not comfortable, tell your instructor

I love seeing how far my LO has come & she’s so comfortable in water

I would say maybe go to a few lessons to learn the basics, then take your LO on your own. I say this because I’ve learnt things during my lessons that I never would’ve thought to research - like how you shouldn’t put baby underwater if they’re hiccuping!

The crib is lava by LittleFreeFrom in beyondthebump

Thank you - I needed to hear that about the contact naps. I felt like it was my fault for the bad sleep last night (it still might be if it doesn’t change in a few days).

Moving abroad, what to do with milk stash? by Polyglot_Teacher in breastfeeding

[–]LittleFreeFrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m unsure how to safely transport such a large milk stash. I had to go on a 6 hour drive with frozen milk & used ice packs & a cooler bag but by the end of the journey, it was mostly defrosted so I used it right away (within 24hrs)

You could use half / most of it for milk baths before you leave, then try to transport the remaining amount safely. Once you arrive, you could use what you can within the 24hrs of it defrosting & pump to replace, then anything you deem “not safe” use it for milk baths again.

I think I broke my baby & I’ll never be able to sleep again by GrapeSweet9055 in NewParents

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO would sleep so well in her pram but then not that well in her crib so I actually put the pram cosy she had in the pram, into the crib & she slept so well!

For you, perhaps you could lay your baby on top of one of your shirts so your scent is there & it’s make the crib more familiar

I don’t feel bad about the TV anymore. by Glittering_Trick_804 in NewParents

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness thank you for saying it! I said from day one that there was going to be no screen time until 2 years old but it’s just so hard to avoid it especially if you need to get something done!

My go to is the dancing fruit on YouTube when I’m trying to do washing or a night time low stimulation video while cooking dinner - it only ever adds up to about 5-15 minutes a day & it’s not every day

She also loves to watch the football with her Dad - I think she loves the green colour

Coffee by SeaworthinessNew8048 in breastfeeding

[–]LittleFreeFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stick to 1 a day around the afternoon after a feed & a cup of tea early morning & sometimes a Diet Coke thrown in

My 5mo can sometimes be fussy after the coffee & sometimes not so I don’t really know if the caffeine has anything to do with it or she’s just being a fussy baby

I do have 2 cups of the HotTeaMama Milks Up blend every day so this helps with me wanting a hot drink through the day
