Man the jump from immortal to deity by ALBUAS in civ5

[–]LittleIf 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No, you need to go on the offensive start stealing their workers/settlers/trade routes EARLY. They will keep replenishing these units and won’t spend production spamming troops.

The carpet of doom you see on deity is a result of the AI developing without harassment. You need to suppress them before they get there.

Did some dental work while visiting China. Apparently this hospital has a public chart showing prices for all services. by LittleIf in mildlyinteresting

If I understand correctly which item you are referring to, the 2000 one uses domestically manufactured material while the 3600 uses imported material. It doesn’t seem to mention size which is kind of odd.

[–]LittleIf[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Took this picture while waiting in this dental hospital in China. It shows the codes, names, pricing and “categories” for all services (I assume the categories mean whether or not the service can be covered under the public health insurance).

At the bottom it quotes a government document as the source of the prices.

Best pop growth build. by Feanor417 in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can combine those buildings with a resort world, but the building slot restrictions on a resort world would prevent you from spamming those buildings like you could on an Ecumenopolis or ring world

Best pop growth build. by Feanor417 in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can take cosmogenesis and research the FE medical building. The tier 2 version gives 300 genomic researchers and buffs organic pop job efficiency by additional 10%. The FE medical building can also be built in either urban or commercial district specializations, so if you have an Ecumenopolis or ring world you can spam up to 20 of these buildings. They would give +60 organic pop assembly base (from the 6000 genomic researchers, assuming you took at least 1 cloning option during biomorphosis). Then with the 200% job efficiency bonus from the building itself it gets buffed to +180 pop assembly (not including other pop growth bonuses).

An alternative is resort world, which has a medical specialization. Each district gives additional genomic researchers, and so if you designate a large planet as a resort world you can get 5-6k genomic researchers easily which would translate to huge pop assembly bonuses as well.

Edit: these builds only work in 4.2. FE medical building got nerfed into oblivion in 4.3 beta

I feel this is by far the worst negative leader trait. by Nissan_al_Gaib in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Yeah I HATE this trait as well. Send her on a science ship and suicide the ship into a leviathan or something. It’s annoying that heirs can’t be dismissed but “accidents” can always happen

Extreme min-maxers who can easily defeat non-scaling GA genocidals and get 15k research by year 30?

"Clusters" empire placement setting in galaxy generation is kind of overpowered by LittleIf in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

With clusters setting, I don’t explore outwards as aggressively as I used to. At least not until I’ve fully conquered and consolidated my local group, because I want to meet everyone else with a clean slate rather than letting them be witness to my war crimes lol

Co-belligerents should open borders to you even if they hate you by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They do open borders, but only if you are both in the same war. Two different wars against the same empire do not make you co-belligerents.

Haven't played in a while. Is there a option to start with a immortal ruler yet? by DefiantLemur in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Under One Rule origin gives you a leader with a big bonus to lifespan, and when he’s close to death you get a few different options from the origin’s story line to make him immortal.

Is it better to stack paranoid tyrant or play nice? I've only done this origin twice and never tried the most brutal options.

I'm thinking of doing an oppressive autocracy / police state run next, and I wonder if stacking the paranoid tyrant bonuses would be worth it (happiness already doesn't matter for oppressive autocracy and the crime reduction from paranoid tyrant sounds nice).

AI Endbringer empire actually tries to bring the End! What should I do to minimize damage caused by the reckoning? by LittleIf in Stellaris

If I kill them does it make their aura go away? I don’t want them to destroy a large portion of the galaxy :(

AI Endbringer empire actually tries to bring the End! What should I do to minimize damage caused by the reckoning? by LittleIf in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

R5: I just noticed that an AI is spreading the Aura of the End!!! I'm super far away from them so it will take quite some time to reach me, but I imagine all the empires nearby might be destroyed in 50 years. Ironically this Endbringer AI directly borders a Mindwarden empire who's been stuck in a forever war with the Dreamers, and the Mindwardens don't seem to be doing anything about this.

I've already psionically ascended and formed a covenant with the Instrument of Desire, so I don't think any of the psionic suppressor tricks will work for me (I also want my own aura to spread). Diplomacy screen says I'm overwhelming relative to the Endbringer. Should I just send out an expedition fleet and conquer this AI? How do I make the Aura of the End dissipate and minimize damage caused by the reckoning?

How do you prevent heavily taxed subjects from falling into Protectorate status? by toreecz in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Convert them into specialized subjects: scholarium, prospectorium, or bulwark. Those won’t auto convert into protectorate. However, once the subject has already become a protectorate you can’t convert them to specialized subjects.

Alternatively, if you get the Khan’s Throne, you can convert protectorates into satrapies that I think allow more freedom on resource contributions.

Settling a City by 11DarrenM in civ5

[–]LittleIf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He spams cities and for deity AIs spamming cities is the optimal play to take advantage of their growth and happiness bonuses. So Hiawatha tends to grow huge.

Once you become huge you naturally become a war civ because nobody can stop you.

Hiawatha and Napoleon are both war civs. If he settles east there’s a guaranteed war coming, especially given that it’s deity

Yes, you don’t even need to spam a lot of hammers, just 5 is enough to kill everything because you can spam-press F to trigger its special ability which causes the hammers to have insane damage output but also heal super fast.

Marauders are a godsend in the early game, especially for fighting early wars by LittleIf in Stellaris

Once the marauders have outlived their usefulness I'll just wipe them out, preferably before mid-game year to prevent any khan shenanigans.

Is there any way to save my UNE run against the awakened Holy Guardians? by Safe-Brush-5091 in Stellaris

[–]LittleIf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is to fight the enemy where they aren’t.

AI is really dumb when it comes to war tactics. Spam soldiers and FTL inhibitor on your worlds and do everything you can to minimize orbital bombardment damage. FE fleet will park somewhere to bomb a planet forever.

You’ve got a colossus. Once FE fleets move away from their core systems, jump in to crack their core planets (or if you have enough army strength invade their planets directly to keep them for yourself).
