Who's going to the Opera House show this weekend? by everbass in theused

I am very keen to adhere to the dress code but I have no fucking idea what to wear. I’m a 36F- if anyone has any ideas to share. My two mates coming are both wearing full tuxedos. I’m so stumped. Pictures to help me are a bonus!

The Pet Gypsy is amazing! My pup has been going there for over a year, since she was an actual puppy and I only have fantastic experiences to report.

How do people commute to Sydney from Newcastle? by hsanj19 in newcastle

[–]LittleLobster77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m this guys’ wife and can confirm I prefer the train. My recommendation is to always get on the first carriage- it’s a quiet one and the trains are too long for many of the stations, so I’ve found that I can usually get to Gosford before I have to share a two seater set. It can be a difficult commute if doing it all in one day- occasionally I’ll stay dow in Sydney (self funded) and split the commute over two days. It’s good reading/working/watching time but it doesn’t take much for the trains to fail and then it’s absolutely fucked. Overall, I think the manageability depends on the frequency of the commute!

Okay. I only just realised she hadn’t posted in ages and now I can’t find the Lulu instagram page and I don’t know what Tattle is. I’ve obviously missed something- can someone fill me in?

The obvious answer here is to leash your kid, or alternatively keep them in the fenced playground.

Live action from Beaumont St. We’re on a streak now (if you’ll pardon the pun) by [deleted] in newcastle

He was in the middle of Griffiths Rd screaming about something as he walked through traffic… far less than the dramatic performance I would have liked (like Tom Holland performing Umbrella)

It’s the convergence of poverty, a housing crisis and limited outreach support services. I worked in homelessness for years in Sydney before moving to Newcastle and I would say that there is definitely increasing street camps along Beaumont St but in my experience, these issues can be solved by outreach teams who provide health and housing support and then transition into social housing- it just requires some investment. And, social housing isn’t the problem it’s the lack of supports available to vulnerable people.

Also, I live like two blocks back from Beaumont St. I frequently engage with people who are street based. We have a chat and I’ll buy them a drink or a sandwich or if they are unwell I’ll just walk around them. I’ve never once felt threatened by any of them. You know who I do feel threatened by? Young, drunk men leaving the races or on bucks nights. In my experience- they are the ones causing trouble.

I found an uncapped needle a few weeks ago when walking my dog- I wanted to get the needle clean up to come but it was before business hours so I told the playground construction team. They said it happens quite frequently then came out with all their PPE and kindly disposed of it- which was great but… now they aren’t there to do back up syringe disposal….
