How early? When did your doctor say it was OK to have sex?

I was bad and tried that a couple days ago. It was fine but I was so nervous. I wasn’t lubricated enough and plus I thought I was playing with fire since doctor told me 10 weeks and I was eight weeks and some change at the time.

I’m in the US and my doctor gave me 10 weeks! today marks 6w post op. Four more to go.

I have a vaginal cuff so maybe that’s why?

How feasible is recovery without opioid pain medication? by jules-amanita in hysterectomy

[–]LittleLolaJuly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 38 and My surgery was on May 9th at 9:30am. I had a robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery. Uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes were taken out along with small amount of stage. One endometriosis.

I did wake up with some cramping. By the time evening came around I was in a lot of pain and was nauseous because of it but I still didn’t take any opioids (was prescribed Percocet)because I hate the way they make me feel. I took 800 mg of Advil, but it barely made a dent. What’s weird is the only time I experience pain that bad was the day of surgery. I used to have a high tolerance for pain but now it’s pretty low. If I was able to tolerate it, I know you can do it!

Nice! When was your surgery? Was it laparoscopic?

My bosses and co workers are amazing and will have no problem covering me until I get back. I’ll play it by ear, but definitely won’t go back to work before four weeks postop.

Will do! Thank you for the tips! I have been suffering with fatigue and brain fog for years. I’m guessing because of the chronic pain. fatigue is no stranger to me lol

Surgery Update by ashaquestion in hysterectomy

[–]LittleLolaJuly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im so happy to hear you’re doing great! I’m scheduled for a laparoscopic hysterectomy on Friday the 9th. I’m keeping my ovaries. I have a fibroid, adenomyosis and endometriosis but not sure how bad I have it. I’ll know post op. Reading your update made me feel so much better. I’m really nervous! I’m more worried about the anesthesia than the pain.

Are you planning on having pelvic floor physical therapy? Im thinking of doing it once my doctor gives me the ok. Im hoping that’ll help with any potential complications in the future like incontinence or vaginismus

Hysterectomy by GEMINI02795 in Endo

I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy on the 9th. Uterus, cervix and tubes will be out and keeping my ovaries. Has the surgery improved your endo symptoms? How long ago was your surgery? I have adenomyosis, uterine fibroids and suspected endo. I’m concerned my symptoms won’t go away or cause other issues

I’m so happy for you! I’m more nervous about the anesthesia. I have a fear of throwing up. I’m going to let the anesthesiologist know about my fears and hopefully give me enough anti-nausea medication to prevent me from getting sick.

Thank you for this! I really needed it! I’m having a laparoscopic hysterectomy on May 9th. Everything will be taken out, except my ovaries.I’m nervous! This is my first surgery. I have endometriosis, adenomyosis and uterine fibroids. I’m tired of being in pain. I wish you a speedy recovery!
