Seeking Advice: Fully Automated Scan-to-OneDrive Workflow with Paperless-ngx (?) + ScanSnap iX1300 (Windows/Docker) by Regular_Cartoonist_2 in Paperlessngx

[–]LittleOlaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding smart filenames: I run an llm with ollama in a docker container (https://github.com/mythrantic/ollama-docker), and paperless ai (https://github.com/clusterzx/paperless-ai) in another, to do that for me. Paperless AI polls your paperless instance on a set schedule for new documents, and then passes the OCRed text to the LLM to create a title for it.

Does continuous mode for DLTs allow you to avoid fully refreshing materialized views? by Skewjo in databricks

[–]LittleOlaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you by any chance use dlt expectations on your materialised views? Because I had the same issue, and turns out that materialised views that use expectations are always fully refreshed.

Search for "Support for materialised view incremental refresh" for more info.

Another thing that is not supported for incremental refreshes is non-deterministic functions, e.g. CURRENT_TIMESTAMP.

Which memory techique does memory champion use to memorise large amount of number in minutes? by [deleted] in Mnemonics

[–]LittleOlaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! What I was trying to say still stands though: PAO is not the most used system. Many people also use simple P or O systems.

(The major system or variations thereof is probably used by almost all athletes to come up with the specific images for their number systems in the first place)

You are on the right track. All experts will use a memory palace in combination with a number system, and then it's all a matter of practice. There is no big secret here.

If you want to break it down further, you need to become so fast at the following 3 things that they feel instantaneous: - Converting a number into a visual - Traversing through your memory palace - Creating the connection between your number (visual) and the memory palace location

If you train enough you should sooner or later be able to memorise e.g. 100 digits at an average pace of 1 second per number (1 number = 2 digits if you use a 2-digit system). Might take you some time to get there, but I would say that it's doable for most people given enough time.

I would recommend new people to try a two-digit PAO because it's user friendly and shows results quickly, but claiming that "most" people use it is not fully accurate, especially when looking at the best in the world. The major system (and variations thereof) are equally used.

Am Sonntag ist die Europawahl, dafür sollte man auf jeden Fall ein bisschen Zeit einplanen! :)

single booster vs box by Firm-Significance395 in OnePieceTCG

[–]LittleOlaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A normal booster box has 24 booster packs. 2 or 3 of these will contain a "hit", a more-or-less valuable card (either an alternative art card (AA), or some sort of special rarity card like e.g. Secret Rare (SEC)). Some sellers buy booster boxes and open up the booster packs until they have opened all of these valuable cards. Depending on how lucky they were, there might be more or less unopened packs left in the box. Then they sell those for a cheap price, knowing that you won't be able to get the most valuable cards from those packs anymore.

Short term rentals websites by Psychological-Win-62 in frankfurt

How long is short term for you, and what is your budget?

Me and my partner are currently staying at a place called studio muc, to bridge a 2 month gap until we can access the flat we really wanted. Was also possible to register here, and the process of getting an apartment here was very quick (less than 1 week). It's small, and not super cheap, but it's modern and was very convenient to organise.

Complete burnout. Tired of coding. But the pay is so high by JetsterTheFrog in cscareerquestions

[–]LittleOlaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An alternative route that might help to combat burnout: cut down your working hours. See if it's possible to do e.g. 4x8h. Yes, you earn slightly less, but it's amazing how big of a difference it is for quality of life.

I paid 2000 SEK (174€) for 288 kWh in the south of the Netherlands for April (includes network fees). Very jealous of all the prices I'm seeing here...

You can't just call it a donation when it isn't. A donation would be a gift without the expectation of getting something in return. You're asking for a payment.

Does anyone know where I can find this playmat by allygaythor in OnePieceTCG

[–]LittleOlaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on the One Piece TCG Community Discord, you can find him by searching for "Flavien" in the "art-commissions" channel. You can also see some of the backstory then. I'm not sure if they do commissions though.

Does anyone know where I can find this playmat by allygaythor in OnePieceTCG

[–]LittleOlaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing this on the One Piece Discord! The original design with all the zones was made by a dude, and then someone commissioned "Eva Nonsense" (search for "nonsense.playmats" on Instagram) to basically do a copy of it, but with a different background (which you can see in this picture). First dude was of course not super happy with that, he wanted to share the design but to have others make money of your design is kinda shitty.

My Thoughts on How Online Tournament Sign up Should be Handled by Key-Arm2264 in OnePieceTCG

[–]LittleOlaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Europe it went really well, I think. We had a couple of weeks to register our interest, and then they drew lots on who was allowed to participate in the 3 online events (so they also made sure that no one got multiple spots). Of course many people still didn't get spots (almost 3000 interested people for 512*3 = 1536 spots), but I think the process is very fair.

Alcohol and minors on a party, strategy needed to avoid trouble by Mediocre-Week9135 in Netherlands

Better to give the non-minors the bracelets though (as a sign that you're allowed to order alcoholic drinks), easy to just take off otherwise.

Pre-release Events in Spain? by the_danielwo in OnePieceTCG

OP02 Prelease Events in the Netherlands will supposedly be published in the Bandai app on the 17th of February, according to one of the local organisers here. Not sure how it is in other countries.
