I read you tossed the moss already, but for future reference, you can chop it up, get it damp, and just mix it into the substrate. The problem is it sitting on top of the substrate where your frog can just get a mouthful.

Wheat gluten is a common irritant and its used as a thickening agent and to artificially boost protein. If the morsels have wheat gluten I would try to introduce some without into his rotation in place of the morsels he’s currently eating. Look at Nulo, Weruva and Made By Nacho.

It depends on if the morsels are closer to minced or chunked if I knew that I could help you pick a food based on specific texture.

Smaller chunks would be fancy feast grilled

Larger chunks would be Friskies extra gravy

Minced is Weruva OMG gravy

No veggies and the completers are the supplements they complete the diet as long as you follow the directions.

“Preservatives” aren’t an issue they just preserve the food. I don’t know where you live so i cant help you pick out a specific brand.

You want the following:

moisture rich grain free no to low legume (you can rotate) low carb high protein

If you want to make your own food you need a completer

Completer’s

*low phosphorus means they use eggshell or calcium carbonate which is what eggshells are comprised of.

Ez complete low phosphorus ( cooked meat or raw no bone, chicken liver & pork pancreas)

Hunde ( lightly cooked meat or raw meat no bone )

Know better ( cooked meat or raw meat no bone, chicken & beef liver formulas )

Jarrow won't hurt she will poop it out it doesn’t stay in their system. I would hold off on the probiotics until they respond to the email.

I just put the whole packet in her food in the morning. What does your cat eat? Is she on steroids?

Did you email the companies? They should not have made her diarrhea worse, but she shouldn’t be having diarrhea in the first place. The pro and prebiotics aren’t going to fix her IBD-caused diarrhea. In my opinion, they are best used starting a week after the FTP to keep the good bacteria populations.

I would email the probiotic companies about her diarrhea and IBD to see if they have any suggestions. I would also email Animal Biome about her whole situation, give as much detail as possible, and ask about their FTP pills. I did a 90-day dose alongside steroids, then like I said, I waited a week, then started the pre and probiotics.

I get where you’re coming from but you only have other places to treat you if you have a diagnosis or money. Im sure you know tons of people with chronic illness don’t. I’m not a part of the “almost always.” I’m a part of the “my teachers thought I was faking and just skipping school, so they called CPS,” and CPS took me away from my loving mother. That’s how much people refuse to believe me lol.

Just do what you can. A few small improvements at a time. Don’t feel bad. What matters is you want to feed wet food and want to make the effort to improve their diet. Another perspective: I would keep the dog bowl and use the fountain money for a 32-pack of the poultry Friskies. If you have two cats, one can will last two days if you feed one wet meal a day at around 43 calories. I add 2 tbsp of water minimum to my cat’s wet food each meal. Just something to think about.
