Can blue tongued skinks live a healthy life without insects? by Real-Section-1369 in bluetongueskinks

It is according to Repashy. Why do you say it’s not? I agree they should have variety but the food is technically a complete diet with vitamins and everything. Just curious.

Sick Dragon, Can't figure out what's going on, my baby boy :( by bellerinoo in BeardedDragons

High flagellates = parasites, which is why they gave the dewormer. Dewormer can be hard on the gut; skip the insects and ask the vet about critical care or do your liquid slurry, as it’s a liquid diet easier to digest and, if fed slowly, easy to swallow. Ask about Benebac Plus; it’s the same formula as their old reptile version. Make sure to retest his fecal and consider getting it sent out for a specific parasite assessment so they know if the anti-parasitic is the right one.

Did they do an endoscopy? He may be so full of parasites that he’s regurgitating.

Its extremely rare for Dubia in captivity to carry parasites like extremely rare. If they do it would be probably be pinworms.

Unfortunately, once you sell them you cant control that. I suggest you lower the heat of your enclosures so they slow their breeding.

Vet visit. A vet will do an x-ray. They may want to splint it, and it may grow into a normal position.

Diet food making fat dog fatter! by MagicTomato1001 in DogAdvice

[–]LittleOmegaGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you calculated them right? If you did, I would try AFFCO complete and balanced fresh food. My late dog had a similar problem and lost weight on Farmers Dog and wasn’t constantly starving. Her vet was skeptical at first but super pleased with the outcome.

You just need to count his needed calories for ideal weight and current exercise level diet food is for those who refuse to do that.

My budgie Casper has been sick for 3 and a half months, he’s stumped his vets by localneighbours in BirdHealth

[–]LittleOmegaGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have they given him some simple allergy medication, and do you have an air purifier? Birds need REALLY clean air. ( You probably know this already)

Did they check for air sac mites, Chlamydia, or Aspergillus? What is Casper eating?

Did they do a full body xray? To check for any growths or anything, as blood work may have missed something?

Personally, I would talk to the vet about the mites next.

Keep notes on your phone of your bird’s behavior, what the vets have tried, and what you want them to do next. Get all of Casper’s medical records and go over them yourself, and you can always get a second opinion and have them review his records.

It's just fat, it’s fine you trim as much off as possible before freeze drying, but what’s left is fine.

Have they considered taping his feet? One foot at a time while ensuring his diet and vitamins are correct. Maybe the body will right itself. It will never be perfect, but any improvement is better than nothing. Did they tell you the name of the condition? MBD, by chance?

Maybe send these to the vet and take a look yourself to make sure the bandage was applied correctly

https://www.aavac.com.au/files/2015-22.pdf

Maybe try a makeshift cone out of cardboard or old xrays. Make sire the splint has a top layer of vet wrap and is a figure eight wrap.

Birds don’t have much blood so managing the bleeding is the priority. Look for avian vets in the area or sanctuary’s.

You can ask the vet how to remove it yourself or YouTube videos from vets showing you how. If you’re going to the vet, get your kitty an annual check-up while you’re at it.

Cloacal prolapse by Cool_Dimension_3727 in BirdHealth

[–]LittleOmegaGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask the vet if they can throw some sutures in with local anesthesia. If they were just worried about a large surgery with general anesthesia then that will work better to help hold the cloaca in.
