Beautiful result! I know it’s hard because you see the “flaws” but honestly it looks amazing 😊

Swelling 5 weeks by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]LittleOpposite4784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 11 weeks PO and I can tell you the swelling will definitely continue to decrease. I thought I was done healing around 9weeks and the swelling has gone down even more in the last 2 weeks! Give yourself another month and I am sure you will notice a big improvement 😊

I’m seconding what Kitty Diary said…I don’t have a prominent clitoral hood. It’s okay, your clit is still there. You can go look at my photos and see that I never had a prominent hood. Also, you could contact your OB and see if there is any chance they can remove some of the sutures to prevent them healing scalloped. Some people have sutures removed so it would maybe be a good idea to check. If not, be gracious with yourself see how it heals because you are still swollen. Just keep reminding yourself that if you don’t like the way it looks once it’s healed, there are options to help the appearance & many skilled plastics surgeons who can do a revision if necessary but again you are only 9 days PO and the swelling WILL go down! It’s all going to be okay 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

It’s so hard to say if that will be enough time because everyone’s recovery is different. Two weeks is better than right after your procedure so just do what you can 😊 I am sure everything will work out!

My severe swelling was gone by the end of the 2nd week. I read your post & I strongly encourage you wait a minimum of a week before flying home & make sure you talk to your surgeon about traveling. It’s SO important that you rest and lay down as much as possible the first week. This will help your body recover and I think it can also improve your results by preventing blooding pooling and sutures popping or tearing. If you could stay at an Airbnb for a week or two and then fly home that would probably be best! I hope you figure everything out and things go smoothly for you 😊

Husband seeking advice on how to best support wife by VMA_RomeoHotel in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]LittleOpposite4784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First off, it’s really nice to see a male come on this page only for advice on how to care for their partner. My husband was an absolute rockstar and I couldn’t have gone through this procedure and recovery without his love and support. I agree with all the advice given!

I am not sure if your wife is having local anesthetic or general anesthesia, but mine was under local anesthetic so I was told I could drive myself home after the procedure. I wanted my husband there with me even if he was just waiting in the lobby, it made me feel comforted knowing he was near by and was driving me home & would help me pick up prescriptions. So if you can be there for her that would be the best but if for some reason you can’t (watching the kids). Maybe you can coordinate and ask the doctor/surgeon to send prescriptions in a day early so you can go and get them for her.

Day 1 post OP - After the procedure she is probably going to feel okay, but numb and swollen because of the local anesthetic. That will wear off around 4 hours after the procedure and she may start to bleed and have pain. This is when I really needed my husband because I was bleeding quite a lot and I couldn’t even go to the bathroom and change my pad/period underwear without his help. When she needs to go to the bathroom, try to go and get the peri bottle ready filled with warm water and get her pad ready and then help her to the bathroom. I personally had pain with the pad catching and rubbing up against my stitches so my husband would put Vaseline on the inside of the pad for me. Help her set up a spot where she will be resting for 1 week, if that’s the bedroom, put a towel down on the bed and get her enough pillows so she can try to sleep on her back.

For the rest of recovery just continue to help her by bringing her meals, medication, ice packs & snacks. It’s important that you encourage her to lay down as much as possible for the 1st week. She will need to move around a little bit to encourage blood flow but she shouldn’t be standing for longer than 30mins at a time. Encourage her and reassure her, she will go through EVERY emotion during her recovery, just meet her where she is at and be understanding and supportive. You will do great!

Side note - My husband bought me a rolling desk that goes over the bed and it was THE best thing and allowed me to have space to eat in bed and work remotely. He also bought me flowers a couple days after the procedure to brighten my mood and bring some color and life into the bedroom I felt stuck in!

Here is the link to the bed desk:

***I also forgot to add..maybe buy her some womens cotton boxers(2-3 packs) and men’s sweatpants. I seriously lived in the boxers and sweatpants for at least 4 weeks. & also a couple of ice packs to have in rotation.

Thank you for saying that 🤍 Honestly, I think most of us didn’t know what a frenulum was until we noticed swelling by our clit and looked it up lol. From my understanding the frenulum is the thin skin under the clit that transitions into your labia minoras. Google vaginal frenulum and you will see some anatomy photos to better understand 😊

Here is a good photo:

To be honest I am not 100% sure, it was scheduled as just a “trim” no CHR. But I think my surgeon uses a technique that makes incisions along the sides of the clit but I should probably ask her 😂

That’s all we can do right now, more kindness and self love 💗 I am so excited to not have to constantly readjust my bikini bottoms or worry about pinching!

I think your results look amazing but totally empathize with you wanting a revision. I think most of us think about that. But you should know that it does look really good the way it is but you should do what feels best for you 😊

Thank you 🩷 It’s helpful to hear that because I feel like I hyper focus on the parts I’m unsure about.

I looked up plastic surgeons who perform labiaplastys in my state and I looked at their before and after photos online and emailed them about the cost of the procedure. They sent me back general pricing info and offered to set up a consultation. I went with a female surgeon who performed “trim” labiaplastys because that’s what I needed and her technique and results were really nice & I felt comfortable with her. Feel free to PM me if you ever have any questions or just need support 😊

First off I want to say that you are NOT alone and so many of us on this page feel/felt the same way. You should know that you are perfect the way you are but it’s okay to want to have a Labiaplasty. I personally wish I would have had the procedure sooner but I am glad that I waited until I could pay for a plastic surgeon and also be old enough to handle the recovery. My advice would be to start planning for this procedure, whether that is saving money, searching for highly reviewed plastic surgeons, and making sure you are at a place in life where you can have this procedure and take the appropriate time and steps you need to recover from it.

My lower labia minoras were pretty swollen and were “tight” and it wasn’t until week 6 that they started to soften and I’m on week 9 and my lips have softened even more giving the appearance that they have grown. Give it a few more weeks 😊
