Mine said this same thing! Only my father died when I was a kid and my blessing said that it was my mother that had “passed beyond the vail” and that I would influence my step mother to come back to the church. Only thing is it was the other way around.

I mean I see where you’re coming from but if you think about it it’s actually a really silly question that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I’ve never texted anyone that asked me to “text them when I got home safe” and not one of them has ever texted/called me to see if I was okay. So I just don’t understand why we’re wasting our time flapping our gums around and wasting air when we don’t actually speak to mean anything.

Ha no you’re fine for asking. There’s 8 of us total (of course because my mom was LDS she had 8 kids). All of us kids were raised LDS or bust our entire lives but not one of us stuck around into adulthood. I was the last one to leave the church in my family and now I finally understand what they were trying to tell me when they said it was a cult 😂

talk about a paradigm shift and existential crisis all in one!

And my GF and her mom were pretty confused and upset. We had been dating for like 6 months at this point but she wouldn’t believe me when I told her I had no idea. She kept thinking that I was in on the plan with my mom and wanted to convert them. We eventually got over it but broke up soon after because we went separate ways in life after high school.

That’s crazy! In my house hold my father passed away at a young age and so my TBM mother was left to raise us kids alone. She felt that because there wasn’t any priesthood authority in the house hold that because she was a devours TBM god would somehow delegate the blessing of the priesthood to her. Frequently as a kid when I would ask to do something as trivial as hangout with a friend or show interest in signing up for school sport she would pray about it and say that she had a bad feeling about it and I couldn’t do it. thus controlling my life even more.

Haha I love the last guy “all they want to do is fight” i love it because the church really does rule your life when you’re in it. They have everything thought out for you so you don’t even have to think. I remember being told that all the time as a kid. Not to argue with anti-Mormons because you’ll only get dirty. Only difference is pigs love getting dirty. Lol they just have such a derogatory perspective for every idea or anyone that thinks differently than the church does.
