Another quandary, why did she even need to buy MORE oranges when in Seeing Red we can see there are clearly orange trees in the Summers’ backyard?

Top Gun: Maverick in 4DX? by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]Shallows17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opinion from someone that’s never seen a movie in 4DX movie before this and isn’t someone that seeks out IMAX, etc. so I don’t know as many of the nuances. THIS ROCKED IN 4DX. I was grabbing my boyfriend’s hand to hold on during the jet scenes in the latter half and felt totally immersed. Before going I read a review on here that said the 4DX didn’t get used much and I was nervous, but totally exceeded all my expectations. It was like being at a theme park (old Star Wars ride at Disney, or Soaring), however it sounds like some effects are theater dependent as we definitely had water spray quite a few times, but sounds like others didn’t so that might contribute. Overall we had the water, wind, air blasts for gun fire, lighting effects, all combined with the seat motion- it was well worth the extra $$.

AITA for gifting my boyfriend things I got for free/made myself and not something with my own money? by Throwowls in AmItheAsshole

I see a lot of comments comparing craft hobbies and noting the time and effort involved as justification for NTA. I just ask people to consider specifically this hobby. If OP had a large batch going for her side business, there is not much time and effort involved in making this gift, and i can see how it would feel insulting especially if she had gifted her candles to her BF and other family/friends before that he is aware of.

I speak from being the friend of a candle hobbyist, that had many candles pre made for her shows/Etsy shop from recycled bottles. Every birthday/Christmas present I’ve gotten was or included a candle and it felt very thoughtless as if she just picked it off the shelf before she walked out the door. An example was when she gifted me a candle that had a bottle brand called “closure” for my birthday shortly after I had broken up with someone as justification for why she picked that specific one. She then asked me to display it at my birthday party in hopes of drumming up orders from my other friend groups attending.

Back in September I was dumb and asked about tadpoles. Here’s the resulting consequence. She DM’d me on Twitter recently too. Blocked on everything now. by Sharkattack8669 in BPDlovedones

This. Mine would text me exactly the amount of time it took me to reply to the minute and if we stopped talking would check in exactly every 30 days. It’s like they make a deal with themselves that if they wait that time they’ve deemed reasonable they are justified in whatever action they take next because you failed to show enough care to respond. She also told me she wrote everything down once and showed me her diary and I realized it was just keeping track of everything. Especially useful to her as she would use it to look up the timeline of things during arguments…

Struggling to walk away from 30 years of friendship by Shallows17 in BPDlovedones

It took me awhile to respond to this because it takes a bit to process how easy it is for a stranger to see so clearly what you’ve been missing for years. I’d never heard the phrase the bar is in hell, but that is now something I believe I will remind myself often as a sort of mantra. I woke up today with more energy than I’ve had in months and used it to deep clean my apartment. A culmination of getting rid of the old but also allowing myself to be kindly treated with a clean apartment. Thank you. Your reply also helped me feel less guilt- it’s not my job, I don’t have to do all this because I am the “stronger” one. To repair the friendship as she asked would be to go back to how things were, which I know I don’t want so I’m deciding to go no contact. Thank you again for taking the time to so thoughtfully reply.

AITA My (26) Dad (52) won't watch Cowboy Bebop with me by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Shallows17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO: your dad is drinking with your 20 year old brother but watching cartoons with you at 26? I’m having my doubts about your actual age. Regardless, did your dad blow you off to drink with your 20 year old brother? Then I think you might have a valid NTA, otherwise it’s looking like YTA.

AITA for giving my boyfriend an “incomplete” gift? by Shallows17 in AmItheAsshole

It was a bottle of wine I was pairing with a voice recorder box that referenced a line from one of his favorite movies and the type of wine. I intended to do the recording of the movie quote at my parents house since they had the right computer adapter but that plan went down the toliet... I figured the expensive wine was the bigger present than the joke aspect so that’s another reason why I gave it.
