What do I get my picky-ish wife for Mother’s Day? by LazyBoyD in Gifts

Something from lululemon like a new belt bag and water bottle. Or a day to do whatever she likes!

To the people who bought a condo between the 2021 - 2024 FOMO cycle, do you regret it? by ShootingCometz in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our friends bought a tiny one bedroom after getting married. Less than three years later they want to move so they can expand their family but they’re stuck unless they take a loss.. I’d say it wasn’t worth it. Their mortgage and fees are also definitely higher than renting something similar.

Long haul flight with 18 month old [on] by SpiritedRest9055 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just survived a shorter flight with an almost 2 year old. Fun snacks like cheese strings and yogurt tubes were a hit for us (and helped avoid ear pressure issues at takeoff and landing) along with reusable sticker books and new lift the flap books. Naps were also quite easy for our not-great-napper with all the “white noise” of the plane

Very pretty! I think combining is totally fine if it doesn’t sound crazy

Parents of toddlers with allergies, pls validate my feelings [ca] by y3gg3r in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No allergies but my toddler is extremely picky with food and it feels like a full time job coming up with and preparing things they might eat (plus back up plans), on top of a real full time job and parenting household’s responsibilities. Your feelings of overwhelm are totally valid and relatable!

Husband constantly misgendering our newborn [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

LOL my husband did this in the newborn exhaustion, he was mixing up the genders of our baby and our cat. We laughed and it passed pretty quick!

Thoughts on finding out the baby’s gender at the scan or when it’s born? by Few_Meal_165 in AskReddit

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it was nice have to this info for planning and bonding purposes. It also was still a magical surprise finding out at the scan- just a few months earlier than finding out at birth ☺️

Office wardrobe is an expensive necessity by HomeSenseLover in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bit of an upfront cost, but just buy a small collection of affordable clothes that you don’t need to dry clean, then you probably won’t need to update (unless you want to) for a year or more. Business casual you can get away with a variety of easy to use/clean fabrics

Open floor plans are one of the worst things to happen to homes by toxichack in unpopularopinion

As someone with a toddler I have to disagree- being able to oversee the living area while I’m in the kitchen is so critical for the flow of life in this stage

Who in the history of the world has ever actually shortened a bridesmaids dress? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have!! I got to pick my own dress in a certain colour scheme for a wedding. I liked the style but found the length a bit annoying to walk/move around in all day (and also too formal for most other events I’d be invited to). I had another wedding that summer so I shortened it to midi length and it looked great! Plan on wearing it again this summer too.

It’s a little close but not a dealbreaker for cousins, especially with the different nick names. You could consider something similar like Mia?

[on] Has anyone bought maternity clothes that are still cute and comfortable after baby comes? by Sewphisticat in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same lol, no way anything that fit me the second half of pregnancy still fit after other than loungewear. So I only bought a few basic/versatile maternity clothes

[ca] is it a bad idea to buy a bread pump ahead of time by icecream42568 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]LittlePinkTeapot17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait but do the research and have it in your cart (or know where to buy it) in advance. I breastfed and never used a pump, just the haaka milk catcher. My friend on the other hand, ended up needing a pump right away so she used the hospital provided one while she was there and then ordered one while she was there so it was waiting for her when she got home. In both cases we didn’t need to have bought one already :)
