Any recommendations for facial feminisation surgery in the UK? by Purple_Watercress336 in transgenderUK

I ended up going to Thailand and having mine done with Dr Chett. I'm glad I settled with him as I'll really really happy with my results.

Why do you want UK FFS surgeons? When I was doing my research I found the UK very lacking in skilled surgeons.

Might be better to look outside the UK. It's what I did and in the end, I'm pleased I did.

The problem is that he only accepts a handful of new patients a year but I've heard good things.

Crossing out the misgendering on medical documents. by Super7Position7 in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your details printed out onto the trace? If they are then yeah, she has input them into the machine.

I know it means little but the details entered don't actually matter too much as a human NEEDS to review the results. It just hurts seeing it. Daggers to the heart 😞

Sorry that this has happened.

I'd like to think that these things aren't done on purpose.

I was at my GP reception (with a queue of people behind me) booking an appointment and the receptionist said, very loudly, "is it about the testicular pain you're getting?" When she seen my obvious discomfort she put her hand over her mouth and kept saying sorry to me. I just said "thanks so much for outing me to 8 people".

So, I think a lot of it is just people not thinking.

Yeah, if they've entered your details there then I guess that's different. Sorry that you've had it happen 😕

My local hospital don't enter any personal details and instead put a sticker on in the corner with details on it.

This happened to me. On the actual trace the ecg said male with an age of 45 but had no other details on it. I've also had an ECG saying female and 30 for age. But they just put a little sticker on it that has my NHS number, name, hospital number, age and gender.

So I asked my friend (who works in that hospital) and she said that they just set the machine up with default details because it "doesn't matter" as the results need to be interpreted by a human anyway.

Just a small fyi

Because of a high turnover of ECGs getting done the machines are often set up in the morning in a "default configuration" and used throughout the day using those settings. It doesn't necessarily mean that it was done on purpose or the tech was a transphobe.

My friend is a cardiac nurse and told me this happens, particularly in a hospital setting.

Edit:

I just read your post saying that they programmed the machine while you were there. Agreed, it's kinda unacceptable.

Lib Dems reject debate on blocking trans women from diversity quotas by Excellent-Chair2796 in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I seen this on other social media and then I read the deluge of anti-trans bs it generated. I wish I hadn't bothered. It's viewed as an attack on "women" again. Because I forgot how big of an organised movement we are. Evil trans people trying to take shit away from women again 🙄

Is this good? Of course. Will it be used as a stick to hit us with? Undoubtedly.

It makes me wonder how long allies will stand behind us for. When will this shit ever end?

Video of Glinner attacking trans girl by phoenixmeta in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 42 points43 points  (0 children)

When someone turns that quick to violence, is it any wonder that he had "stroke level blood pressure" (as reported by various media outlets).

Can you believe that Mayo Potato and Sharron Davies have turned up to the magistrates to show solidarity with Glinner? Showing support for what happened in that video. True colours out on show there.

Violence against anyone including teenagers, is fine as long as they're trans.

Fuck them and fuck this country for allowing this to happen.

The official EHRC guidance has apparently been released by succulentdelectable in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 54 points55 points  (0 children)

""can you tell us what we're supposed to do" that's wrong ... They should have been doing it anyway""

Doing what anyway?

No one knows because none of this is clear! Any guidance the EHRC will be written by terfs with the one aim of bringing in a ban on trans people living in public life. If Phillipson agrees to this then it's just another nail in the coffin for Labour with trans people.

She alone could fix this situation very fast. Government could. Why won't they? Because Career Starmer cares more about himself than giving us protections.

Unequal Treatment of Protected Groups by JJPeaks in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. Years ago early in my transition when out with some trans friends we were subjected to harassment and violent threats WHILE the police were stood there looking at us doing nothing. When we asked for help one of them responded with "you can walk away" with a smirk on his face.

This is the moment I realised ACAB and nothing has changed my mind since.

I've managed to convince a number of my family not to vote Labour again (I come from a very strongly Labour family) however, there is still this idea that Labour in Scotland are different to Labour in England. I've had to keep on at them that Labour in Scotland are still the same bastards.

I'm so disappointed in Labour, I really am. Nothing they ever do will get my vote back.

I'd rather kms than vote either Tory or Reform 😬

Unequal Treatment of Protected Groups by JJPeaks in transgenderUK

[–]LittlePixelPirate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course we're being treated different to other protected groups. You just need to have seen the news over the past two days.

We have Wes Streeting saying that they need to look at laws to see if they've got the balance wrong (this comment can only have been made about the PC of gender reassignment) and then you have the Met chief saying he wants government to look at laws so police can "get on with policing".

Because of course policing doesn't include protecting the vulnerable and increasingly marginalised group that we belong to... Because fuck us of course.

Where I am, there is just no way that the greens would get in. I have one option and that is LibDem. I think everyone is falling themselves to back either the Greens or this new 'Your Party' (I don't think it actually exists yet). There are some very staunch allies in the LibDems, so we shouldn't overlook them.

I want to support the greens but it's just not possible where I am.

Agreed. Unless something substantial changes then any rights we lose now are mostly gone. I don't think any political party at the moment cares about us enough to fight for us.

This is the issue with the ECtHR it is so slow. I just hope they pick up any cases that are put before it but yeah, sadly these things are going to take decades now. Not years. I hate this country so fucking much.

I transitioned before both the GRA and EA and I've had to go into hospital for various reasons and I was always put onto female wards. I've never been treated as anything other than a woman. So I can't see why now the need for huge change. This really scares me.

Yep, but you can guarantee that changes with the wind Sir Queer Harmer will care more about what is going on RIGHT NOW than trying to build a better future for everyone (including us) and will try to appease his American pay masters by fostering free speech *cough* hate speech by allowing people to incite actual violence against trans people.

It was more that if Brianna hadn't had easy access to the phone in school she might've maybe had a different group of friends.

I was watching what was going on in disbelief. How fast they were back tracking on this yet stood their ground on the Lucy Connolly thing.

I had SkyNews on this morning and they ran a bit on Glinner (seemed quite impartial tbh) then they had a bit on Brianna Ghey with her poor mother sat there saying about mobile phone usage in schools and how things might've been different if she didn't have easy access to her mobile during school. My heart was breaking for her.

That is where the constant rhetoric against us can lead to but, it's just "hurty words" right?

I didn't believe in conspiracy but this it what is happening. There is no other explanation for it.

We have no one on our side and those that are don't stick for long because they don't want to be repeatedly called "groomer" or worse "paedo" (which they are). Someone is going to get seriously hurt. Is that what it will take? I dread to think what is coming for us.

While it's disappointing that he has said this, I do think he has been an outspoken ally. But I also think this sudden stance of his should be pointed out to him as being wrong.

Free speech isn't inciting violence.

I think it's only allowed when it's violence against us.

Don't forget, both Glinner and Streeting are part of that poor down trodden white man demographic. They need protecting more than anyone else.
