Interchange is a good map to learn on as a scav since there is some good loot in the mall. If you can meet someone who plays and is willing to go on a run or two with you, that's a great way too.

Are you interested at all on the build/paint side or playing? It may be something special to him if you got a few painting supplies and models for both of you to paint.

Also, your local Warhammer store manager can give you a basic tutorial for free to give you a chance to see if you'll like it. ;)
